Original Office Chair Installation

Admin October 16, 2026

The installation of an original office chair can be carried out according to the following steps, with attention to the matching of components and operational specifications:

1. Component Identification and Preparation
An office chair typically consists of components such as chair legs, casters, gas lift, base, seat, backrest, armrests, and headrest. Before installation, check the quantity of accessories (e.g., whether the types and quantities of screws are complete) to avoid interruptions due to missing parts. For example, some models require 4 long screws to secure the base, or distinguish between the installation positions of screw types 1 and 3.

2. Assembly from Bottom to Top

  • Chair Leg and Caster Installation: Insert each caster into the slots or screw holes of the chair legs, ensuring that the clips are fully embedded or the screws are tightened to prevent detachment during use.
  • Gas Lift Positioning: Insert the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the chair legs, ensuring that the contact surface between the lift and the legs is flat to avoid abnormal lifting function due to tilting.
  • Base and Seat Fixation: Align the base with the screw holes at the bottom of the seat and secure it with matching screws (e.g., 4 long screws). Some bases need to be connected to the seat with silver screws, paying attention to the matching of screw specifications.
  • Backrest Connection: Connect the backrest to the seat through corner brackets or pre-embedded screw holes and secure them with screws. Ensure that the angle between the backrest and the seat is perpendicular to avoid wobbling after installation.
  • Overall Assembly: Vertically insert the assembled seat part onto the top of the gas lift and gently press it until it is fully embedded, ensuring a secure connection between the gas lift and the seat.

3. Armrest and Headrest Installation

  • Armrest Installation: Align the screw holes on both sides of the seat, first fix one armrest and tighten the screws, then install the other side. Check the levelness of the armrests to avoid uneven heights.
  • Headrest Adjustment: If the chair is equipped with a headrest, insert it into the reserved hole at the top of the backrest or secure it with screws, adjusting the height or angle as needed.

4. Key Precautions

  • Screw Usage Specifications: Strictly distinguish between screw types according to the instructions (e.g., screw type 1 for the base, screw type 3 for the armrests) to avoid mixing them up and causing structural instability.
  • Gas Lift Safety: Keep the gas lift vertical during installation to avoid tilting it into the chair legs or seat, preventing damage to the internal seals that could lead to air leakage or explosion risks.
  • Function Testing: After installation, test whether the lifting, rotation, and backrest tilting functions are normal, and check that all screws are tightened to ensure there is no looseness or abnormal noise.

By following the above steps, the installation of the office chair can be systematically completed. If you encounter components with overly tight clips or misaligned screw holes, stop the operation and check the instructions to avoid damage caused by forced assembly.
