Admin October 08, 2026

Office chairs are chairs equipped for the convenience of work in daily work and social activities. They come in various types, functions, and development trends, while also having some safety issues.

Types and Functions

  • Narrow and Broad Definitions: In a narrow sense, it refers to the backrest chairs used when sitting at a desk for work. In a broad sense, it includes all chairs used in offices, such as executive chairs and staff chairs.
  • Office Swivel Chairs: Equipped with rotation and height-adjustment functions, they belong to the category of office supplies and include series such as executive chairs, mid-back chairs, and staff chairs. Executive chairs feature a high-back structure and come standard with armrests, while staff chairs have a low-back and no-armrest design. Their core components include a seat cushion, backrest, five-star base, casters, and a pneumatic height-adjustment system. The height is adjusted via a pneumatic rod, and rotation buffering and movement locking are achieved using elastic supports and rollers.
  • Smart Office Chairs: For example, the Sihoo T6 smart ergonomic chair has massage functions mainly concentrated on the waist and shoulders. The massage intensity in the shoulder and neck area is good, operating in the same way as most widely available massagers on the market. The waist is massaged through vibration, with two intensity levels adjustable.

Development Trends

As people pay more attention to the comfort and health of the office environment, high-end office chairs such as ergonomic chairs are becoming increasingly popular. The future market will develop towards branding, high-end, intelligent, and environmentally friendly directions. Some products integrate pressure sensors, health monitoring, and APP control functions. It is estimated that the market size for hydraulic lift swivel chairs will exceed 16 billion yuan by 2025.
