Office Mesh Chair Production

Admin October 09, 2026

The production of office mesh chairs involves multiple stages, including design, material processing, frame and mechanism manufacturing, and assembly.

I. Design and Development
First, ergonomic data research is conducted, covering the sitting habits of people of different heights and body types, the natural curvature of the spine, and the pressure distribution on the buttocks and back. This data serves as the fundamental basis for designing the chair's curves and support points. Based on the research data, designers create sketches to determine the chair back's curvature, the position and prominence of the lumbar support, the depth and tilt of the seat cushion, while integrating functional designs such as adjustable armrest height and angle, as well as chair height and rotation. The goal is to make the chair actively adapt to the human body. Additionally, materials and structures need to be planned, selecting appropriate mesh fabrics, plastics, and steels, and designing connection methods to ensure structural stability, smooth adjustment, and durability. After completing the design, detailed 3D models and engineering drawings are created to guide subsequent production.

II. Core Material Processing
Mesh fabrics are commonly made of synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon. High-quality mesh fabrics require high tensile strength, good resilience, excellent abrasion resistance, and UV resistance, with suppliers needing to provide detailed material reports and test data. The weaving process affects the performance of the mesh fabric; dense weaving provides stronger support, while specific hollow patterns enhance breathability. Advanced weaving machines precisely control the tension of the warp and weft threads to ensure uniform elasticity across the entire mesh fabric. The mesh fabric needs to be dyed to meet color requirements, with high color fastness and resistance to fading. Subsequently, heat setting treatment is performed to stabilize its structure, allowing it to maintain its initial shape under long-term pressure without collapsing or deforming.

III. Frame and Mechanism Manufacturing
The plastic frames for the chair back and seat cushion are typically manufactured using injection molding processes, shaping engineering plastic pellets. Workers use hydraulic-powered machines to bend 14-gauge steel tubes into shape, creating the frame for the bottom cushion, connecting the ends and welding steel bars in the middle to support the mechanism for adjusting the seat position. S-shaped steel springs are hung from the front to the back of the seat frame, with crossbars placed and clamped onto the springs to provide additional stability and support.

IV. Assembly Process
The mesh fabric is cut according to templates and then sewn into seat cushion covers and backrest covers using sewing machines. The cut foam is firmly glued onto the molded curved boards. The sewn seat cushion covers and backrest covers are then placed over the foam-covered curved boards and secured with staple guns. Finally, they are combined and assembled with components such as armrests, bases, and five-star feet to complete the product.
