Office Mesh Chair Cleaning
Admin October 09, 2026
The following steps can be referred to for cleaning office mesh chairs:

I. Basic Cleaning
- Use a vacuum cleaner: Preferably use a vacuum cleaner to thoroughly vacuum the entire chair, focusing on areas such as the mesh fabric gaps, armrests, and backrest to remove dust and particles. If a vacuum cleaner is not available, gently pat the surface with a feather duster or a soft-bristled brush to remove loose dust.
- Initial wiping: Dilute a small amount of neutral detergent in clean water and use a slightly damp, wrung-out cloth to wipe the chair's surface. Avoid directly using a large amount of water that may penetrate the mesh fabric. After wiping, use a dry cloth to absorb any remaining moisture to prevent fiber damage.
II. Deep Cleaning
- Spray cleaning agent: Dilute a specialized cleaning agent and pour it into a spray bottle. Spray it evenly over stained areas (such as oil stains and sweat stains). For stubborn stains, directly spray undiluted cleaning agent on the affected area.
- Let the stains decompose: After spraying the cleaning agent, let it sit for 1-5 minutes to allow the cleaning ingredients to fully penetrate and decompose the stains. This step improves subsequent cleaning efficiency and reduces friction on the mesh fabric from repeated wiping.
- Extraction and absorption:
- With equipment: Use a steam cleaner or high-temperature washing machine to extract dirt from the chair. The high-temperature steam softens the stains and the suction removes deep-seated grime. It is recommended to alternate at least twice to ensure thorough cleaning.
- Without equipment: Gently brush the mesh fabric with a slightly damp, soft-bristled brush, brushing in the direction of the fibers to avoid damaging the structure. Immediately after brushing, use a dry cloth or a water absorber to dry the moisture to prevent mold growth due to dampness.
III. Special Stain Treatment
For localized stubborn stains (such as ink and beverages), after spraying the cleaning agent, cover the area with a damp towel and use a steam iron on low heat (keeping a distance of 10 cm) to accelerate stain removal through heat. Afterward, wipe with a dry cloth and let it air dry naturally.
IV. Drying and Protection
- Air drying: After cleaning, place the chair in a well-ventilated area to air dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight that may cause the mesh fabric to age. If faster drying is needed, use a hairdryer on the cool setting from a distance. Do not use hot air to prevent mesh fabric deformation.
- Protective measures: In daily use, cover the chair with a breathable chair cover to reduce dust accumulation and protect the mesh fabric from scratches caused by sharp objects. Regularly cleaning the chair cover can extend the chair's service life.
Precautions: Before cleaning, confirm the chair's material (such as nylon or polyester fiber) to avoid using strong acid or alkali cleaning agents. Ensure the chair is completely dry after cleaning before use to prevent bacterial growth due to dampness.
