Office Chair Wood Repair

Admin October 11, 2026

Office chair wood repair requires selecting appropriate methods based on the specific damaged parts. Common repair methods are as follows:

I. Repair and Modification of the Armrest Surface of an Office Swivel Chair If the armrest surface shows cracks, deformation, or wear, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the Old Armrest Surface: Use a screwdriver or wrench to unscrew the fixing screws at the connection between the armrest surface and the armrest. Carefully remove the old armrest surface to avoid damaging other components.
  2. Create a New Armrest Surface Outline: Place the old armrest surface flat on paper, trace its outline with a pencil, and cut out the paper card as a template. Draw the panel outline on small wooden strips according to the template to ensure accurate dimensions.
  3. Assemble and Shape: Use wood glue to assemble the small wooden strips according to the outline, forming the basic shape of the armrest surface. After the glue has partially cured, use a handsaw to cut out the specific shape of the armrest surface along the outline, ensuring a smooth saw cut.
  4. Sand and Paint: Sand the sawed armrest surface to remove burrs and unevenness, making the surface smooth. Choose to paint or apply wood wax oil according to personal preference to enhance aesthetics and durability.
  5. Install the New Armrest Surface: Align the made wooden armrest surface with the armrest mounting holes and fix it firmly with screws to ensure it does not loosen during use.

II. Repair of the Wooden Board of an Executive Stool For issues such as cracks and looseness in the wooden board of an executive stool, follow these repair steps:

  1. Prepare the Base and Apply Glue: Remove the wedges from the stool and clean the dust and debris from the wooden board surface. Squeeze wood glue into the cracks. If the gaps are small, use a blow nozzle or straw to blow the glue into the depths of the gaps to ensure full filling.
  2. Clamp and Let Stand: Use clamps to tighten the cracked area, allowing the glue to distribute evenly and squeeze out excess glue beads. Wipe off the flowing glue and let it stand for 24 hours to allow the glue to reach maximum strength.
  3. Make and Install Butterfly Clips: Determine the size of the butterfly clips according to the cracking situation. First, drill several large holes, then use a chisel to carve out grooves and smooth them. Apply glue inside the grooves and hammer in the butterfly clips. Also, repair several areas at the bottom to enhance the fixing effect.
  4. Sand and Level: After the glue dries, remove the clamps, remove the tenons, and sand them smooth. If the tenon of the stool leg is deformed, repair it with quick-drying glue and sawdust, and insert wedges into the gaps to level the stool, ensuring its stability.
