Office Chair Wobbling
Office chair wobbling may be caused by loose mechanical connections, worn nylon slides/plastic clips, aging interface components, chair design factors, installation issues, or problems with the gas lift. Solutions should be tailored to the specific cause.

Loose Mechanical Connections
After prolonged use, screws connecting the seat cushion to the tray and the tray to the five-star base may become loosened due to vibration or stress. Use a screwdriver or wrench of the appropriate size to check and tighten all visible connecting screws one by one, especially at the junction of the tray and the base. If screws are stripped or damaged, replace them with screws of the same size.Worn Nylon Slides/Plastic Clips
The nylon slides or fixed clips inside the tray that control the tilt angle may become whitened, brittle, or worn due to long-term friction, leading to increased gaps between components. If wobbling is caused by such wear, purchase replacement parts of the same model online or from the manufacturer. When replacing, disassemble the tray and note the original positions of the parts to avoid incorrect installation.Aging Interface Components
The metal clips or inner plastic sleeves at the interface between the gas lift and the tray may become worn or loose due to frequent lifting or aging. If aging of interface components is confirmed, replace the corresponding parts. When replacing, secure the chair first to prevent the gas lift from suddenly popping out and causing danger, and ensure the new parts match the original model.Chair Design Factors
Some office chairs may have slight wobbling due to functional design (such as height adjustment, reclining, or rocking features) that requires retaining some movement clearance, or reasonable gaps at screw connections for components. Such cases usually do not require repair and are considered normal. If the wobbling amplitude exceeds acceptable limits, contact the manufacturer to confirm whether it is a design defect.Installation Issues
If wobbling is concentrated on the backrest or base, recheck whether the fixing screws are tightened. If the seat leans forward, confirm the installation direction of the base: the lever for adjusting height should be on the right side for correct installation. If it is on the left, the base is installed backward and needs to be disassembled and reinstalled. When installing, refer to the instruction manual or video tutorial to avoid missing steps.Gas Lift Problems
If wobbling is accompanied by height adjustment failure, slow sinking, or unusual noises, it may be due to gas leakage or aging of the seals inside the gas lift. In this case, replace the gas lift with a product of the same size and weight capacity as the original. When replacing, use professional tools to release the pressure inside the gas lift to avoid accidental popping during disassembly.
