Office Chair with Stand

Admin October 14, 2026

The characteristics of office chairs with stands vary depending on their type and design. Common stand materials include thickened steel, elastic components, and plastic frames, with functions covering load-bearing, rotational cushioning, and structural support. The following is an analysis of the features, functions, and applicable scenarios of different types of stands:

Thickened steel stands are primarily characterized by their high-strength load-bearing capacity. The thickened steel frame used in Shuangmuma office chairs is a typical example. Its design enhances structural stability by increasing the thickness of the steel, allowing it to withstand weights of over 200 pounds without deformation. This type of stand is commonly used in scenarios requiring long-term heavy load-bearing, such as offices or public areas. Its advantages include strong durability, long service life, and the ability to adapt to different environmental conditions after anti-rust treatment on the steel surface. However, the drawback of thickened steel is its relatively large weight, requiring extra effort to move, and its higher cost, making it more common in mid-to-high-end office chair products.

Elastic stands are distinguished by their dynamic functional adjustments. Among the core components of office swivel chairs, elastic stands achieve rotational cushioning and movement locking functions through spring or gas rod structures. When users rotate or adjust their sitting posture, the elastic stand absorbs some of the impact force, reducing friction noise between the seat and the ground while providing a smooth rotational experience. The movement locking function is realized through the mechanical structure inside the stand, allowing users to control the fixation and sliding of the chair wheels via buttons or switches, meeting the needs of fixing the seat or moving for communication during office work. This type of stand is commonly found in office chairs that are rotatable and height-adjustable, suitable for office environments requiring flexible movement.

Plastic frame stands are oriented towards lightweight design and cost optimization. Some office chairs feature a design with a black plastic backrest frame paired with a mesh backrest frame. These stands are formed through injection molding processes, being lightweight and low-cost. Although the load-bearing capacity of plastic frames is weaker than that of steel, they can meet daily office needs through optimized structural design (such as adding reinforcing ribs). Their advantages include ease of mass production, low transportation costs, and the recyclability of plastic materials, aligning with environmental trends. However, the durability of plastic stands is greatly affected by the environment, and they may age and deform when exposed to high temperatures or ultraviolet light for extended periods. Therefore, they are more commonly found in economical office chairs or short-term use scenarios.
