Installation of Hanger on Office Chair

Admin October 09, 2026

There are three ways to install a hanger on an office chair, and the appropriate solution should be selected based on the backrest structure to ensure installation stability.

I. Installation with Dedicated Components (Taking the E14 Model as an Example)

Some office chairs are designed with reserved interfaces for hanger installation. For instance, the E14 model uses two long screws to secure the hanger to the neck pillow buckle, which is then snapped into the reserved screw holes on the backrest. This type of solution requires two conditions to be met:

  1. Backrest Structure Matching: It is necessary to confirm that the backrest has a neck pillow buckle or reserved screw holes, and that the hole spacing matches the screw holes on the hanger component;
  2. Component Compatibility: It is advisable to choose a dedicated hanger that is compatible with the curvature and material of the backrest to avoid installation looseness or scratches on the chair surface due to size discrepancies. When installing, use the original factory-supplied screws to avoid damaging the internal structure of the backrest with screws that are too long or too short.

II. Low-Cost Modification Solution

If there are no reserved interfaces on the backrest, functional expansion can be achieved through a combination of horizontal and vertical hangers for reinforcement:

  1. Vertical Hanger Positioning: Select a bendable metal or plastic hanger and clamp its bent part around the upper and lower edges and sides of the backrest to form a three-point fixation;
  2. Horizontal Reinforcement for Anti-Slip: Wrap another hanger horizontally around the middle of the vertical hanger to increase friction through a cross structure and prevent the vertical hanger from sliding;
  3. Material Selection: It is advisable to use lightweight but strong metal hangers (such as aluminum alloy) to avoid deformation of plastic hangers due to long-term weight bearing. This solution is cost-effective, but it requires regular inspection of the reinforcement structure for looseness and may affect the original support function of the backrest.

III. Commercial Integrated Solution

Some office chair products (such as models from Foshan Xialuotehao Furniture) have directly integrated hanger functions or can meet hanging needs through detachable accessories:

  1. Integrated Design: A foldable hanger is built into the side or bottom of the backrest, which can be unfolded for hanging clothes when in use, occupying no additional space;
  2. Accessory Expansion: External hanger modules are fixed through magnets, buckles, or screws to adapt to different chair models. This type of solution offers the best stability, but it requires the purchase of products from specific brands or models, and the cost is relatively high.

Precautions: Regardless of the solution adopted, it is necessary to confirm before installation whether the material of the backrest (such as mesh, plastic, or metal) can bear the weight of the hanger and clothes to avoid deformation of the backrest or detachment of the hanger due to insufficient weight bearing capacity.
