Office Chair with Desk

Admin October 09, 2026

When the seat height of an office chair is around 40cm, a desk height of 70 - 75cm is generally more appropriate, and adjustments should be made according to the user's height and computer monitor situation.

I. Desk Height Selection Based on Office Chair Seat Height When the seat height of an office chair is within the common range of around 40cm, setting the desk height at 70 - 75cm is scientifically reasonable. This combination allows the user's thighs to be basically parallel to the ground. When the arms are naturally placed on the desktop, the elbow joints can form an angle of about 90 degrees. This posture is very convenient for operating the computer keyboard and mouse and can effectively improve work efficiency. Moreover, at this height, the user's eyes can look straight at the center of the computer screen, helping to reduce fatigue in the neck and shoulders and lowering the risk of cervical and shoulder diseases caused by long-term office work.

II. Adjusting Desk Height According to User's Height People of different heights have different requirements for desk height. If the user is tall, the desk height can be appropriately increased to around 75 - 80cm. This is because taller people have relatively longer arms and bodies, and a higher desk height is necessary to ensure that they can operate the computer with their arms and body in a natural and comfortable state, avoiding the need to bend over and increasing the physical burden due to a low desk. Conversely, for shorter people, the desk height can be lowered to around 65 - 70cm. This allows them to maintain a correct sitting posture while working, keeping all parts of the body in a reasonable position and reducing fatigue.

III. Considering the Computer Monitor Situation In addition to considering the seat height of the office chair and the user's height, the size and angle adjustment of the computer monitor should not be overlooked. Ensure that the angle and distance between the eyes and the monitor meet ergonomic requirements. Specifically, the angle between the eyes and the top edge of the monitor should be around 10 - 20 degrees, and the distance between the eyes and the screen should generally be between 50 - 70cm. Appropriate angles and distances can reduce eye fatigue, protect vision, and also help improve work and study efficiency.
