Structure of Office Chair Wheels
The structure of office chair wheels mainly includes three key aspects: attachment methods, types and sizes, and materials.

Attachment Methods: There are two primary ways to attach office chair wheels to the chair legs. One is screw attachment, where the wheels are firmly installed on the chair legs using screws. This method is relatively sturdy and can withstand significant pressure, making it suitable for office chairs that require frequent movement and have high weight-bearing needs. The other is groove attachment, which utilizes the cooperation between grooves on the wheels and the chair legs to achieve fixation. This method is relatively simple for installation and removal and is commonly found in lightweight office chairs.
Types and Sizes: Common types of office chair wheels include snap-ring and threaded types. Snap-ring wheels have a circular groove at the top of the wheel axle. When installing or removing them, pressing the wheels produces a 'click' sound. This design makes installation and removal more convenient and quick while ensuring stability after installation. Threaded wheels have a prominent external thread, similar in structure to screws, and are connected to the chair legs by rotation, providing a tight and secure connection that is less likely to loosen. In terms of size, the common diameter of the insertion rod is ฮฆ11mm, which is the standard size for the part of the wheel that connects to the chair leg, ensuring compatibility. Common wheel diameters include 5cm, 6cm, and 7.5cm. Wheels with a 5cm diameter are typically used for lightweight chairs and are suitable for spaces with limited room or low movement requirements. Wheels with a 6cm diameter are suitable for medium-sized chairs and can meet the movement needs of general office scenarios. Wheels with a 7.5cm diameter are used for heavy-duty chairs and can bear significant weight, making them suitable for environments where heavy objects need to be moved frequently.
Materials: Office chair wheels are made from various materials, with PU and nylon being common choices. PU wheels significantly reduce noise when rolling on hard floors and do not scratch the surface. They also provide some elastic cushioning, reducing the vibration transmitted to the chair during movement and enhancing comfort. Nylon wheels are harder and more suitable for use on carpets. Their rigid material can easily penetrate carpet fibers, allowing the office chair to move more smoothly on carpets.
