Office Chair Wheel Standard

Admin October 11, 2026

The standard for office chair wheels mainly refers to QB/T 2280-2016, with testing items covering multiple aspects such as mechanical, physical, and chemical properties.

QB/T 2280-2016 is a general standard for office chairs, which clearly specifies the relevant requirements for casters, including key indicators such as wear resistance, rolling resistance, and impact resistance. This standard provides a basic framework for evaluating the quality of office chair wheels, ensuring that the wheels have sufficient durability and stability during use.

In terms of testing items and scope, the testing content for office chair casters is relatively comprehensive. Durability testing is one of the core items. It evaluates the wear of the wheels after repeated rolling by simulating long-term usage scenarios to ensure that their service life meets expectations. Rolling resistance testing focuses on the smoothness of wheel movement. Excessive resistance can affect the user experience and even increase user fatigue. Rotation performance testing is mainly aimed at wheels with brakes, checking their rotational flexibility and brake reliability to ensure stable stopping when fixation is required.

Static load testing and impact load testing respectively evaluate the load-bearing capacity of the wheels under static and dynamic conditions. Static load testing checks whether the wheels deform or are damaged by applying a fixed weight; impact load testing simulates sudden force situations, such as the chair being vigorously pushed or collided, to ensure that the wheels do not fail as a result. Brake performance testing is applicable to wheels with brakes, verifying the sensitivity and durability of the brake devices to avoid sliding risks during use.

In addition, wear resistance testing and chemical hazardous substance testing are also important links. Wear resistance testing evaluates the surface wear resistance of the wheels by simulating long-term friction; chemical hazardous substance testing ensures that the wheel materials meet environmental protection requirements, avoiding the release of harmful substances during use and safeguarding user health.

These standards together form a quality assurance system for office chair wheels, ensuring that the wheels meet industry requirements in terms of safety, durability, and comfort.
