Office Chair Wheel Peeling
The peeling of office chair wheels is usually due to poor quality or prolonged use. You can try wrapping the wheels with masking tape to solve the problem of shedding debris.

The peeling of office chair wheels is mainly related to two factors. Firstly, there is an issue with the quality of the wheels themselves. Some office chair wheels may use low-quality plastic or rubber materials during production. These materials perform poorly in terms of wear resistance and aging resistance, and are prone to peeling over time. For example, some low-priced office chairs use inferior materials to reduce costs, and their wheels may start to peel after just a few months of normal use.
Secondly, prolonged use. Even if the wheels are of good quality, frequent rolling, friction, and collisions with the ground over a long period of time can cause damage to the wheel surface. Just like car tires, after a certain number of years of use, the surface will also show signs of wear and aging, and the same goes for office chair wheels. After long-term use, the material on the wheel surface will gradually lose its elasticity and become fragile, leading to peeling.
If the office chair wheels are shedding debris and affecting normal use, you can try using masking tape to solve the problem. Masking tape has a certain degree of flexibility and adhesiveness, allowing it to conform to the wheel surface and prevent shedding debris. When wrapping the masking tape, be sure to wrap it around several times, preferably at least two times or more. This is because if the number of wraps is too few, the masking tape may not adhere firmly to the wheel and may easily come off during use, failing to prevent shedding debris. Moreover, wrapping the masking tape multiple times can also increase the friction between it and the wheel, making the wrapping tighter. At the same time, avoid getting the adhesive on the wheel, as it will be troublesome to clean up later and may cause secondary damage to the wheel surface. After wrapping, check to ensure that the masking tape is wrapped smoothly and there are no raised or loose areas, ensuring that it can effectively prevent the wheels from shedding debris.
