Office Chair Wheel Installation
The steps for installing wheels on an office chair are as follows:

Step 1: Check Components
Upon receiving the goods, carefully check the component list to ensure it includes 5 wheels and other necessary components (such as chair legs, screwdrivers, or wrenches). If any components are missing or damaged, contact the merchant promptly for replacements to avoid interruptions during installation.
Step 2: Identify Wheel Type
Based on the structural features at the wheel connection point, wheels can be divided into two types:
- Snap-ring type: The connection point has a disc shape and is fixed with a snap ring. Installation requires pressing or prying with force.
- Threaded type: The connection point has a hexagonal shape and is tightened with threads, requiring tools (such as a wrench) for disassembly and installation.
Correctly identifying the type is crucial for subsequent operations; confusion may lead to installation failure or component damage.
Step 3: Remove Old Wheels (if necessary)
- Snap-ring type: If replacing old wheels, gently pry the connection point between the wheel and chair leg with a screwdriver to release the snap ring from the slot, then remove the old wheel. Control the force to avoid scratching the chair leg surface.
- Threaded type: Use a wrench to rotate the old wheel counterclockwise until it is completely unscrewed. If the threads are rusted or too tight, spray a small amount of lubricant to assist in disassembly.
Step 4: Install New Wheels
- Snap-ring type: Align the snap ring of the new wheel with the slot on the chair leg and press firmly until you hear a 'click' sound, indicating the snap ring is securely fixed. You can install the 5 wheels one by one or pre-install all wheels on the chair leg before pressing them uniformly.
- Threaded type: Align the threaded end of the new wheel with the screw hole on the chair leg and use a wrench to rotate it clockwise until it is completely tightened. Keep the wheel vertical during installation to avoid misalignment of the threads, which could cause looseness.
Step 5: Inspection and Adjustment
After installation, check that all wheels rotate smoothly without jamming and ensure the chair legs are placed steadily on the ground. If you find any loose wheels or tilted chair legs, retighten the threads or adjust the snap ring position.
Precautions:
- Handle components gently during operation to avoid damaging the chair legs or wheels with excessive force.
- If unsure about the disassembly or installation steps, refer to the video tutorial provided by the merchant or seek assistance from others.
- Regularly check the tightness of the wheels to prevent loosening from long-term use.
