How to Weld an Office Chair
The welding methods for office chairs vary depending on different components and requirements. Here are some common welding methods and steps:

Welding Repair of the Office Chair Base
When the base of an office chair requires welding repair, it is usually to enhance the stability of the seat cushion, and a bottom bar needs to be welded. During the specific operation, first spread the support rods to both sides, utilizing the flexibility of the support rods themselves to create favorable conditions for welding the bottom bar. Since this process requires precise control over the degree of spreading of the support rods and the welding position of the bottom bar, it usually requires two people to work together. One person is responsible for spreading the support rods and keeping them stable, while the other person performs the welding work on the bottom bar to ensure a firm weld and improve the stability of the base.
Fabrication of a Square-Tube-Welded Office Chair (Taking a Four-Legged Chair as an Example)
- Leg Welding: Select 3x3 square tubes and cut two square tubes with a length of 60 centimeters. At a distance of 26 centimeters from one end, cut a 5-millimeter notch, and then bend the square tube at this point. After that, perform the welding operation to form the leg structure of the chair.
- Middle Structure Welding: Cut one 26-centimeter 3x3 square tube and two 24-centimeter 2x2 square tubes. Align and weld the 24-centimeter 2x2 square tubes with the 26-centimeter 3x3 square tube. After the welding is completed, reverse the structure and weld another identical part. During the welding process, pay special attention to alignment to ensure the stability of the structure.
- Bottom Support Welding: Cut two 22-centimeter 2x2 square tubes and align and weld them, ensuring that the distance from the lower square tube to the ground is 6 centimeters to provide an appropriate support height for the chair.
- Rear Structure Welding: Use 2x2 square tubes to cut two 20-centimeter ones. Measure 2 centimeters downwards and cut a 20-centimeter 3x3 square tube to weld it on, constructing the rear support structure of the chair.
- Backrest Welding: Cut one 20-centimeter and three 22-centimeter 2x2 square tubes, fix them on the backrest, and then perform overall welding reinforcement to enhance the firmness of the backrest.
- Subsequent Processing: After the welding is completed, put on plastic tube sleeves to provide protection and enhance aesthetics. Fix the seat surface wooden board and finally perform painting treatment to improve the appearance quality of the office chair.
