Washable Office Chairs

Admin October 16, 2026

Office chairs can be cleaned, and the cleaning methods vary depending on the material of the office chair.

Genuine Leather Office Chairs: Genuine leather office chairs are relatively delicate and require special attention during cleaning. Simply use a soft, dry cloth to wipe them, which can effectively remove surface dust and stains. Never use rough tools such as steel wool, as their hardness can easily scratch the leather surface, leading to unsightly marks and affecting the chair's appearance and lifespan.

Mesh Fabric Office Chairs: Cleaning mesh fabric office chairs is relatively more complex. One method involves using a specialized cleaning agent in combination with a brush; in some cases, a soft-bristled toothbrush may be more suitable, along with foam cleaning agents, to gently scrub the mesh surface. After cleaning, avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent the mesh from aging and changing color; instead, use a tissue to gently blot dry the moisture. Another more professional method involves first using a vacuum cleaner to thoroughly remove dust, then diluting the cleaning agent or pouring it into a watering can to spray onto the chair. Allow the cleaning agent to sit for a while to fully dissolve the stains, then use a steam cleaner and a high-temperature washing machine to alternately suction wash at least twice for a more thorough cleaning of the mesh. At the same time, use a water absorber to dry the washed chair and speed up the drying process.

PU Material Office Chairs: If the seat armrests of an office chair are made of PU material, cleaning is relatively easy and convenient. Simply use a damp cloth to gently wipe, and most stains can be removed. If necessary, you can also choose leather cleaners or leather brighteners for deep cleaning and maintenance, which can keep the PU material shiny and new and extend its lifespan.

Fabric Chairs: The dyed areas of fabric chairs are generally on the surface. When cleaning, do not directly scrub with a brush, as the bristles may damage the fabric fibers, causing the fabric to fuzz or fade. Instead, use a damp cloth to gently wipe. If the fabric chair is dirty, you can use diluted cleaning agents. When cleaning, be sure to rinse thoroughly with water and then blot dry the moisture to prevent the cleaning agent residue from causing the fabric to change color or produce odors.
