Warranty for Office Chairs
The warranty period for office chairs varies depending on the type and brand. Standard office chairs typically have a warranty of 1 year, while ergonomic chairs can have warranties ranging from 3 to 5 years. For some high-end brands, the warranty for core components or the entire chair can extend up to 10 years. Details are as follows:

National Regulations and General Market Conditions
According to the national standard 'Requirements for After-Sales Service of Furniture', the 'three guarantees' period for standard office chairs is usually 1 year, starting from the date of invoice issuance. The warranty period for major components may be longer, and the specific duration should be based on the warranty card or instruction manual provided at the time of purchase. In the market, most standard office chairs adhere to the national standard with a 1-year warranty. Ergonomic chairs, due to their positioning and higher price points, generally come with longer warranties, with 3 to 5 years being common in the market. For example, the MARKUS office chair offers a 10-year quality guarantee, and some high-end brands even provide warranties of up to 10 years for core components or the entire chair. Additionally, some high-end office chair brands offer extended warranties for core components separately, such as a 5-year warranty for the gas cylinders of many high-end office chairs.
Specific Content of the 'Three Guarantees'
- Repair Guarantee: Within the 'three guarantees' period, if an office chair has quality issues not caused by human factors, consumers can take it to designated repair service stations for free repairs with a valid invoice and 'three guarantees' certificate. The repairer must ensure that the repaired product can function normally for a certain period, such as more than 30 days. If the repair period is excessively long due to the manufacturer's failure to supply spare parts or the repairer's own reasons, the seller should replace the product with one of the same model and specifications for the consumer free of charge.
- Replacement Guarantee: If performance failures occur within 7 days of sale, consumers can choose to return, exchange, or repair the product; if performance failures occur within 15 days, they can choose to exchange or repair it. Within the 'three guarantees' period, if the product still cannot function normally after two repairs, the seller should be responsible for replacing it with a product of the same model and specifications free of charge or returning it according to regulations.
- Return Guarantee: If performance failures occur within 7 days of sale and the consumer requests a return, the seller should be responsible for a free return and refund the full amount based on the invoice price. Within the 'three guarantees' period, if the product meets the replacement conditions but the seller has no product of the same model and specifications available for replacement, or if the consumer does not wish to exchange it and requests a return, the seller should grant the return and charge a depreciation fee for the used product according to the prescribed depreciation rate.
Exceptions
The 'three guarantees' do not apply in the following cases, but paid repairs can be carried out: damage caused by improper use, maintenance, or storage by the consumer; damage caused by disassembly by non-authorized 'three guarantees' repairers; lack of a 'three guarantees' certificate and valid invoice; inconsistency or alteration of the model on the 'three guarantees' certificate with the repaired product; and damage caused by force majeure.
