Office Chair Violence
"Office chair violence" mainly refers to accidental injury incidents related to office chairs, including serious injuries caused by the explosion of swivel chairs and injuries caused by using chairs as weapons to attack others.

Injuries caused by the explosion of swivel chairs
Explosions of swivel chairs occur frequently and are extremely dangerous. These explosions usually stem from quality issues with the gas springs or improper use. The gas spring is a crucial component for the height adjustment of swivel chairs. If its quality is subpar, the purity of the nitrogen filled inside is insufficient, and other gases are mixed in, the internal pressure can surge under high temperatures or frequent height adjustment operations, potentially triggering an explosion. For example, in 2013, Ms. Liu in Fujian Province was sitting on a swivel chair when it suddenly exploded. A steel tube about two centimeters in diameter shot out, piercing her lower body. Fragments of various shapes were removed from her abdomen, with several pieces of metal debris remaining in her intestines. In 2007, Ms. Lou in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, was injured by a newly purchased computer lift chair that exploded just seven days after purchase. There was a่ฃๅฃ (Note: '่ฃๅฃ' means 'laceration' or 'tear', here translated as 'laceration') about 2 centimeters wide and 10 centimeters deep around her anal area. Doctors removed a large amount of debris, including hard plastic, wood shavings, sponge, and fabric, as well as two other foreign objects from the wound. In 2009, a 14-year-old boy named Xiaogang in Jiaozhou, Shandong Province, was at home surfing the internet when the gas spring rod of his rotating and adjustable chair suddenly exploded. The rod, as thick as a finger, popped out instantly and pierced Xiaogang's body through his buttocks. Due to damage to multiple blood vessels, he died despite hospital rescue efforts. These cases highlight the severe consequences of swivel chair explosions, which can lead to injuries in multiple body parts and even endanger lives.
Injuries caused by using chairs as weapons to attack others
In addition to swivel chair explosions, there are also cases where chairs are used as weapons to attack others. In May 2019, at a special needs school in the UK, a student with special educational needs (SEN) attacked 50-year-old principal Michelle Stone from behind with a wheeled office chair, causing her spinal injuries, rib fractures, and clavicle fractures. She required a wheelchair for mobility and suffered from chronic pain and psychological trauma, forcing her to leave her beloved job. Such behavior not only causes serious physical harm to the victim but also brings long-term psychological impacts.
