Usage of Office Chairs
The proper use of office chairs requires comprehensive consideration from aspects such as height, angle, dynamic adjustment, and safety maintenance. The specific key points are as follows:

1. Seat Height Adjustment
The seat height should ensure that both feet are completely flat on the ground, with the thighs and calves forming a 95ยฐ-100ยฐ angle, allowing for even distribution of body weight. If the chair is too high and causes the feet to hang in the air, a footrest can be used. If the chair is too low, the pressure on the knee joints will increase significantly, and long-term use may lead to joint pain. During adjustment, use the pneumatic rod to slowly raise or lower the seat to find the most comfortable position that fits the bend of the legs.
2. Sitting Angle and Lumbar Support
Maintaining a slight backward lean of 100ยฐ-110ยฐ can effectively reduce lumbar spine pressure. The back should be pressed firmly against the backrest, especially ensuring that the waist is in full contact with the lumbar support. Adjust the lumbar support to the point that supports the natural curve of the lumbar spine (usually located between the third and fifth lumbar vertebrae). If the chair is equipped with an adjustable lumbar pillow (such as the Sihoo S300), adjust its front-back position flexibly according to your body shape to avoid the waist hanging in the air.
3. Armrest and Monitor Height Matching
The height of the armrests should allow the forearms to rest easily on the armrests or the desktop when the elbows are naturally hanging down, with the upper arms and forearms forming an angle close to 100ยฐ to reduce the burden on the shoulders and neck. The monitor should be raised so that the line of sight is level with the top edge of the screen to avoid neck muscle tension caused by looking down or leaning forward. If using dual screens, ensure that both screens are at the same height and their center lines are aligned with the line of sight.
4. Dynamic Adjustment and Movement
When sitting for a long time, simple activities should be carried out every 30 minutes: hip joint stretching (such as leg raises in a sitting position), lower back relaxation (such as cat stretches), or shoulder-opening exercises (such as arm circles) can be performed to promote blood circulation and relieve muscle stiffness. If the chair supports a reclining function (such as an executive chair), it can be briefly adjusted to the maximum reclining angle for relaxation, but avoid maintaining the same posture for a long time.
5. Center of Gravity and Safety Maintenance
When using the chair, keep the center of gravity in the middle of the pneumatic rod to avoid uneven force on one side, which may cause the lifting and rotating mechanisms to jam. Regularly check whether the screws, springs, and knobs are loose, and adjust the backrest elasticity according to your body weight (such as the control lever on the left side of an executive chair). It is strictly prohibited to sit on the armrests or place heavy objects on them. When standing up, do not forcibly pull the pneumatic rod to prevent the risk of breakage.
6. Cleaning and Material Maintenance
Choose the cleaning method according to the material: for leather chairs, use a special cleaner to wipe and then air-dry in a well-ventilated area; for fabric chairs, vacuum or spot-clean them; for solid wood chairs, avoid a humid environment. All materials should be kept away from direct sunlight to prevent the aging of plastic parts or cracking of leather. If the chair is equipped with breathable mesh fabric, regularly clean the dust to prevent clogging and affect breathability.
