Office Chair Unloading

Admin October 09, 2026

Unloading office chairs requires comprehensive operations that take into account transportation vehicles, site conditions, and handling requirements. The specific process and precautions are as follows:

1. Pre-unloading Preparation: Coordination of Site and Tools
Before unloading, it is necessary to confirm the parking position of the transportation vehicle and the available site space. For example, if parking spaces on the roadside are limited, vehicles should park in sequence to avoid traffic congestion. If the site space is restricted, a method of "direct unloading to the ground + batch transfer" can be adopted to reduce the occupied area. In one case, 135 office chairs were directly unloaded from a truck to the ground and then transferred to the workshop for assembly via an elevator, effectively avoiding space congestion. Additionally, it is essential to check in advance whether the unloading tools (such as trolleys and pallets) are complete and plan the handling path to ensure unobstructed passage.

2. Selection of Handling Methods: Confirm Conditions in Advance for High-rise Handling
If high-rise handling is involved, it is crucial to confirm the elevator size and floor charges in advance. The elevator size must meet the passage requirements of the office chair packaging (including the outer box) to avoid secondary handling due to size mismatches. If there is no elevator on the target floor, it is necessary to negotiate with the logistics provider in advance regarding additional charges per floor, which typically range from 50 to 100 yuan. For example, one enterprise failed to confirm the elevator size in advance, resulting in the need to unpack and handle the office chairs in batches, increasing labor costs and time consumption.

3. Unloading Process Operations: Batch Processing and Safety Protection
During unloading, priority should be given to handling lightweight and easily movable office chairs to reduce the time they remain stacked on the ground. For heavy or fragile office chairs (such as those with armrests or gas rods), two-person collaboration or the use of trolleys should be employed to avoid damage caused by single-person handling. At the same time, anti-scratch pads or cardboard should be laid on the ground to prevent scratches caused by friction between the office chairs and the hard floor. In one case, due to the lack of protective materials, the paint on the bottom of some office chairs was worn off, requiring return to the factory for repair.

4. Post-unloading Inspection: Verification of Quantity and Quality
After unloading is completed, the quantity should be immediately verified to ensure it matches the delivery note. At the same time, the appearance of the office chairs (such as the seat surface, armrests, and gas rods) should be inspected for integrity. If any damage is found, photographs should be taken on the spot as evidence, and negotiations should be conducted with the logistics provider for compensation or replacement. For example, one enterprise failed to conduct a timely inspection and later discovered that some gas rods were leaking during assembly. Due to the lack of evidence, it was difficult to determine responsibility.
