Office Chair Types

Admin October 08, 2026

There are various types of office chairs, which can be classified into the following categories based on different criteria:

Classified by usage scenarios and design features:

  1. Computer Chairs: Specifically designed for office environments, they are compact in size, take up little space, and are suitable for daily use by ordinary employees. Their structures focus on basic functions, usually equipped with height adjustment and rotation features to meet basic office needs.
  2. Mid-back Manager Chairs: These chairs are larger in size and occupy more space, typically used by management personnel. Their design balances comfort with a certain sense of authority, and the material selection leans towards durability.
  3. Executive Chairs (Boss Chairs): With a grand appearance, they often use leather materials (genuine or faux leather) to reflect the user's status. The design emphasizes comfort and visual appeal, often featuring high backs and wide seats.
  4. Conference Chairs: Characterized by their novel and fashionable appearance, comfort is not the primary design goal. They are suitable for conference rooms and other scenarios, needing to accommodate multiple people simultaneously and be easy to move.
  5. Chess and Card Chairs: With a simple design, comfort is at the core, suitable for leisure scenarios such as chess and card rooms. The materials and structure are optimized for long-term sitting.
  6. Ergonomic Chairs: Through adjustable headrests, armrests, lumbar supports, and other components, they actively adapt to waist movements to relieve fatigue from prolonged sitting. They are suitable for scenarios requiring long hours of desk work and are representative of healthy office solutions.
  7. Ordinary Swivel Chairs: These are basic office chairs with height adjustment and rotation functions. Their materials and designs are relatively simple, and they are affordable, suitable for users with limited budgets.
  8. Anti-static Chairs: Through surface anti-static treatment or the use of anti-static accessories, they are suitable for electrostatic-sensitive scenarios such as electronics manufacturing and laboratories to prevent static electricity from damaging equipment or products.
  9. Rubber Band Chairs: Using natural rubber bands as the main material, they offer excellent breathability and heat dissipation, high comfort, and have antibacterial and anti-mite properties, suitable for users with high requirements for material environmental protection.

Classified by material:

  1. Hemp-fiber Chairs: Commonly seen in work chairs, staff chairs, and mid-back manager chairs, the material is wear-resistant and has a low cost, suitable for high-frequency usage scenarios.
  2. Mesh Chairs: With strong breathability, they are suitable for prolonged sitting. Initially used more in mid-back manager chairs and conference chairs, they are now widely applied in staff chair areas.
  3. Leather Chairs: Mainly in the form of executive chairs, they are divided into genuine leather and faux leather categories. Genuine leather offers better texture but is more expensive, while faux leather provides better cost-effectiveness.
