Office Chair Tray Assembly

Admin October 09, 2026

The assembly of an office chair tray requires selecting the appropriate steps based on the specific model. The core process includes securing the tray to the seat cushion, installing the gas lift, and attaching the backrest, with attention to aligning the holes and matching the screw specifications.

I. Model-Specific Assembly Steps

  1. P600 Computer Chair Tray Assembly

    • Securing the Tray to the Seat Cushion: Align the tray with the screw holes on the seat cushion, use four short screws (specification 6ร—20) for initial fixation, then tighten the screws with a wrench to ensure a secure connection.
    • Installing the Gas Lift and Accessories: Insert the gas lift into the central hole of the tray, adjust the positions of the armrest cushions and lumbar support, and complete the basic installation.
  2. S800 Computer Chair Tray Assembly

    • Securing the Tray to the Seat Cushion: Align the tray with the holes on the seat cushion, use four fine screws for initial fixation, then tighten with a wrench.
    • Installing the Gas Lift and Backrest: Insert the gas lift into the hole of the tray and gently press it to the bottom; align the backrest with the screw holes on the rear side of the tray, use three thick screws (specification 8ร—25) and washers for fixation, ensuring a tight connection between the backrest and the tray.

II. General Tray Replacement/Assembly Steps

  1. Preparing Tools: Cross/straight screwdrivers, rubber mallet, adjustable wrench, cloth (for cleaning dust from holes).
  2. Removing the Old Tray:
    • Flip the chair over and separate the five-star base and gas lift sequentially (if replacing the entire tray structure).
    • Remove the screws securing the seat to the tray, and keep the original screws for later use.
  3. Installing the New Tray:
    • Align the new tray with the screw holes on the seat cushion, and use screws matching the original model for initial fixation.
    • Insert the gas lift and adjust its position to ensure a complete fit between the gas lift and the hole of the tray, avoiding looseness.

III. Key Precautions

  • Aligning the Holes: The screw holes of the tray, seat cushion, and backrest must be perfectly aligned. Forced installation is prohibited, as it may lead to stripped screws or structural damage.
  • Matching Screw Specifications: Screws vary significantly between models (e.g., P600 uses short screws 6ร—20, S800 uses thick screws 8ร—25). Strictly refer to the instruction manual for selection.
  • Long-Term Maintenance: If the tray makes unusual noises or deforms (e.g., steel tray thickness < 3.0mm), promptly replace it with a reinforced steel tray (thickness โ‰ฅ 3.0mm) to ensure load-bearing safety and stability.

After assembly, it is recommended to gently shake the chair to test the firmness of the connections between all components, ensuring safe use.
