Office Chair
Office chairs are chairs equipped for the convenience of work in daily work and social activities, and can be divided into narrow and broad categories. In the narrow sense, it refers to the backrest chairs used for desk work when sitting. In the broad sense, it covers all chairs used in offices, such as executive chairs and staff chairs.

In terms of design features, ordinary office chairs have some limitations. Common problems include an empty space behind the waist, no place to rest the head, fixed armrests, and an inability for the backrest to recline. Sitting for a short time is acceptable, but when sitting for a long time, the neck, waist, and legs all need to support themselves, which can easily lead to fatigue and discomfort. In contrast, ergonomic chairs are more scientifically and reasonably designed. They have an S-shaped backrest that can fit against the spine, a lumbar support that can hold up the lumbar vertebrae, a headrest that can support the neck, an adjustable seat cushion, adjustable armrests, and a backrest that can recline. Such a design can disperse body pressure, make it difficult for the sitting posture to collapse, reduce wear and tear on the neck, waist, and legs, and allow for a change of posture when tired.
In terms of quality, some office chairs have potential safety hazards. For example, on March 2, 2023, the United States and Canada implemented a recall of office chairs made in China due to the risk of the backrest breaking, which posed a falling hazard. Twelve reports had been received, including ten injury reports. On September 30, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation found that 15 batches of office chairs failed the national supervision and inspection, with stability issues being particularly prominent. On January 16, 2025, the United States implemented a recall of WorkPro Momentum office chairs made in China because the bolts might fail, posing a falling hazard. Seven reports had been received, including two minor injuries.
In addition, the installation methods of different models of office chairs also vary. When installing a 1012A office chair, materials need to be prepared, and operations such as installing the base casters and seat armrests on the base should be carried out. According to the video instructions, use screw C, install screw D on the inside, and insert screw E into the base after placing it in a washer, etc. When installing a 1011A office chair, insert AL screws into a washer according to the video instructions, fix the seat armrests first and then tighten them, and use screws for fixation, etc.
