Admin October 08, 2026

Office chairs are chairs equipped for the convenience of work in daily work and social activities. Different models have different installation methods and some safety issues exist.

Definition and Classification of Office Chairs

The English term for office chair is 'office chair'. OfficeMate classifies office chairs into two categories: narrow and broad. A narrow office chair refers to a backrest chair used when a person is sitting at a desk for work. A broad office chair encompasses all chairs used in offices, including executive chairs and staff chairs.

Installation Methods for Different Models of Office Chairs

The installation methods vary for different models of office chairs. For example, for the 1012A office chair, first prepare the materials, then install the base casters, followed by the seat armrests. After that, use screw C according to the video instructions, install screw D on the inside, and insert screw E into the base after placing it on a washer. When installing the 2022A office chair, also start by preparing the materials and installing the base casters. Then, use screws J and K along with washer L to install the chassis, followed by installing screw K. When installing the armrests, use screws and screw sleeves, and finally place it on the base. For the 1011A office chair, insert the AL screw according to the video instructions and place it on a washer, install the seat armrests, and first secure them and then tighten them.

Safety Issues of Office Chairs

There are some safety hazards associated with office chairs. On March 2, 2023, the United States and Canada issued a recall for office chairs made in China due to the risk of the backrest breaking, which could lead to falls. At that time, 12 reports had been received, including 10 injury reports. On September 30, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation found that 15 batches of products were unqualified during a national supervision and inspection of office chairs, with stability issues being particularly prominent. On January 16, 2025, the United States issued a recall for WorkPro Momentum office chairs made in China because the bolts might fail, posing a fall risk. Seven reports had been received, including two minor injuries. These safety issues remind consumers to be extra cautious when selecting and using office chairs to ensure their own safety.
