Office Chair

Admin October 09, 2026

Office chairs are chairs equipped for the convenience of work in daily work and social activities. They can be divided into narrow and broad categories, with different installation methods for different models, and quality issues that require attention.

Classification

OfficeMate categorizes office chairs into narrow and broad types. Narrow office chairs refer to the backrest chairs used when people are sitting at a desk for work. These chairs primarily meet the basic sitting needs during daily office work, providing a certain level of support and comfort for users. Broad office chairs encompass all chairs used in offices, including executive chairs and staff chairs. Executive chairs are typically used in leaders' offices, with designs that emphasize luxury and comfort, and relatively larger sizes. Staff chairs are used daily by ordinary employees, focusing more on practicality and cost-effectiveness.

Installation Methods

The installation methods for different models of office chairs vary. For example, when installing the 1033A office chair, prepare the corresponding materials, follow the video instructions, insert screw J into the washer and then insert it, and use screw L for fixation. Installing the armrests requires screw K. When installing the 2022A office chair, first prepare the materials and install the base casters. Then, use screw J and K along with washer L to install the chassis, followed by installing screw K again. For installing the armrests, screws and a screw sleeve are required, and finally, place it on the base. When installing the 1012A office chair, first install the base casters on the base, then install the seat armrests, use screw C according to the video instructions, install screw D on the inside, and insert screw E into the base after placing it in the washer.

Quality Issues

Office chairs have some quality issues that have led to multiple recall events. On March 2, 2023, the United States and Canada recalled office chairs made in China due to the risk of the backrest breaking, which posed a falling hazard. They had received 12 reports, including 10 injury reports. On September 30, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation conducted a national supervision and inspection of office chairs and found that 15 batches of products were unqualified, with stability issues being particularly prominent. On January 16, 2025, the United States recalled office chairs of the WorkPro Momentum brand made in China because the bolts might fail, posing a falling hazard. They had received 7 reports, including 2 minor injuries.
