How to Raise an Office Chair That is Too Short
There are multiple ways to raise an office chair that is too short, as follows:

Adjust the Chair Leg Scales
Each chair leg usually has scales at the bottom. By rotating them to align the four legs at the same scale, the chair can be evenly raised. After adjustment, carefully check whether the four legs are firmly on the ground and whether the seat cushion is level to ensure the overall stability of the chair.
DIY Chair Leg Raising
Prepare materials such as scissors, glue (or double-sided tape), fabric, or old clothes. Cut the fabric into an appropriate size and shape with scissors and then stick it flatly onto the chair legs. To achieve a better heightening effect and ensure durability, you can choose thicker fabric.
Use Objects for Raising
After cutting off the top and bottom of an empty Maidong bottle, you can place it under the chair legs. This method allows you to adjust the height according to actual needs, but be careful not to raise it too high to avoid affecting the stability of the chair.
Add Heightening Legs
There are specialized chair heightening legs available on the market, usually made of metal or plastic, which are quite sturdy. After purchasing, simply install them at the bottom of the chair. Ensure a firm and stable installation during the process. After installation, sit on the chair a few times to check if it is stable.
Use Heightening Pads/Foot Pads
You can buy dedicated furniture heightening pads or foot pads and directly put them on or stick them to the bottom of the original chair legs. These products are usually made of non-slip and wear-resistant rubber, plastic, or metal materials, with suction cups or non-slip textures designed at the bottom. They can effectively raise the height of the chair and keep it stable. They commonly raise the height by 2 to 5 centimeters, and some products can even achieve a height increase of 8 to 12 centimeters. Moreover, most of them can be installed without tools and are suitable for most wooden chairs and iron-framed chairs.
Adjust the Original Device of the Chair
Some office chairs have a built-in height adjustment function. Carefully check the bottom or side of the chair for manual knobs, wrenches, levers, or electric adjustment switches. Follow the product instructions to operate, and you can usually easily adjust the chair to an appropriate height without additional accessories.
It should be noted that if raising the chair leads to an improper sitting posture, such as leaning forward or stretching the neck forward, it may cause cervical discomfort due to an imbalance in spinal force. The key depends on whether the sitting posture after raising the chair conforms to ergonomics and whether the height of the desk, chair, and screen has been adjusted accordingly.
