Office Chair Tilt Adjustment

Admin October 13, 2026

Office chair tilt adjustment requires targeted methods based on different types of chairs and issues. Details are as follows:

Inspect and Repair an Office Chair Tilted to One Side

If an office chair is tilted to one side, first check whether the wheels are uneven when the chair is placed upright and upside down. Ensure that each wheel foot makes good contact with the ground. Turn the chair upside down and carefully inspect the wheel feet for signs of damage. If a wheel is damaged, do not just replace the damaged wheel; instead, purchase matching new wheels and replace all of them. This is because different wheels may have varying degrees of wear, and replacing only one may cause the chair to tilt again. If all wheels are in good condition and the ground is level, check the seat plate for damage. A damaged seat plate can affect the chair's balance. If you find cracks, deformation, or other issues with the seat plate, repair or replace it promptly.

Adjust the Tilt Function of an Ergonomic Chair

The tilt function of an ergonomic chair allows the seat and backrest to tilt while maintaining the hip angle. If the chair tilts too easily, the tilt tension is too low; if it requires a lot of effort to tilt, the tilt tension is too high. In this case, adjust the tilt tension. Locate the tilt tension adjustment knob under the chair, loosen it, and turn it clockwise. Feel the chair's tilt force as you turn the knob until you reach the correct tension that suits your body weight. If you want to lock the chair in a specific tilted position, engage the tilt lock lever to lock the tilt state. When you need to adjust the tilt angle again, pull out the control lever to release the lock.

Adjust the Recline of an Executive Chair

For adjusting the recline of an executive chair, find the adjuster under the chair. While pulling up on the adjuster, push backward with your back to tilt the chair back. During this process, do not release your hand until you have reached the desired tilt angle, and continue to push backward to ensure a smooth adjustment. Once you have reached the required tilt angle, release your hand from the adjuster control, and the chair will be fixed in the selected tilted position.
