Office Chair Swivel Installation
The installation steps for an office chair with a swivel function are as follows:

1. Installation of the Five-Star Base and Wheels Insert the caster wheels or gravity self-locking wheels into the holes of the five-star base. Choose the installation method according to the wheel type: Some wheels require pressing (e.g., the gravity self-locking wheels of the MD02B model need to distinguish the direction, and the slightly elastic wheels should be installed on the seat side), while others need to be screwed in (e.g., ordinary caster wheels). Ensure that all five wheels are firmly inserted to prevent instability during use. For example, the Livorno M40 office chair requires the five caster wheels to be installed one by one, and the fit between the wheels and the five-star base should be checked.
2. Connection of the Gas Lift and Seat Plate Insert the gas lift into the central hole of the five-star base, ensuring it is inserted vertically without any deviation. Then install the seat plate. Note that the direction of the seat plate should match that of the seat (some models require removing the protective cap at the top of the gas lift first). The seat plate is usually fixed to the bottom of the seat with screws. Use the matching screws and tighten them to prevent the seat plate from loosening during subsequent use. For example, some models require short screws to fix the edges of the seat plate and long screws to connect the seat and the gas lift.
3. Docking of the Seat and Gas Lift Align the bottom of the seat with the hole at the top of the gas lift. Insert it vertically downward and make slight rotational adjustments to ensure a firm connection without any wobbling. For some models (e.g., the Livorno M40), after inserting the gas lift into the central hole of the base, turn the entire chair upright and then check if the docking between the seat and the gas lift is tight. If the gap between the seat and the gas lift is too large, it may cause poor rotation or abnormal noises.
4. Installation of the Armrests and Backrest
- Armrest Installation: Align the armrests with the reserved holes on both sides of the seat, paying attention to distinguishing the left and right directions (some armrests have a forward-backward tilting design). When installing, first fix the bottom screws and do not tighten the top screws temporarily for subsequent adjustment of the armrest height or angle.
- Backrest Installation: Align the bottom of the backrest with the pins or armrest holes on the seat. First install the bottom screws and fix them preliminarily, then lift the backrest to a vertical position, install the top screws, and tighten all the screws. For example, the backrest of the Livorno M40 needs to be inserted obliquely into the pins on the seat and then fixed with screws.
5. Verification of the Swivel Function After assembly is complete, manually rotate the chair 360 degrees to check if it rotates smoothly without any jamming. If the rotation is not smooth, focus on checking the following:
- Whether the connections between the gas lift, the five-star base, and the seat are loose;
- Whether all the wheels are installed properly and there are no foreign objects blocking them;
- Whether the screws on the seat plate are tightened.
Precautions:
- Check the parts list before installation to ensure that short screws, long screws, decorative caps, etc., are all present;
- For the MD02B model, note that the protruding part of the seat cushion should face forward, and use short screws when fixing the lamp bracket;
- For the Livorno M40, check if there are any scratches on the chair's leather surface before installation to avoid the inability to return or exchange it after installation.
