Office Chair Sway
Admin October 09, 2026
Office chair sway may be a design feature or a fault issue, which needs to be judged according to the specific situation.

I. Sway Caused by Design Features
Some office chairs are designed with sway in mind to meet users' needs in different scenarios.
- Yoee Ergonomic Chair Flow550T: It adopts an original Tai Chi follow-up technology, achieving dynamic fitting and follow-up lumbar support. Its backrest linkage technology makes the seat cushion slide out synchronously when leaning back, and combined with the infinitely variable suspension function, it can be suspended at any angle within the range of 100 to 150 degrees. This design not only supports the body's natural sway needs but also allows users to obtain comfortable support at different angles, whether it is a slight adjustment of posture during work or a large-angle lean-back during rest.
- AutoFull Gaming Chair: Some models come with a rocking function, allowing the chair to sway slightly. This design is mainly to facilitate users to rest after sitting for a long time, relaxing the body and relieving fatigue through slight swaying. However, this swaying may be accompanied by gaps and sounds, which are normal design characteristics and not fault issues.
- Sihoo L3 Computer Chair: It achieves the effect of not getting tired after sitting for a long time through a lean-back sway design. It is more suitable for users with relatively fixed sitting postures. Although large-scale dynamic swaying may not fully adapt to ergonomic support, it can to some extent meet users' needs for slight posture adjustments, making users more comfortable when sitting and working for a long time.
II. Sway Caused by Fault Issues
In addition to design features, office chair sway may also be related to some faults.
- Air Rod Seal Ring Leakage: The air rod is a key component for the lifting and support of an office chair. If its seal ring leaks, it will cause the chair to be unstable during the lifting process and sway.
- Loose Screws: During long-term use of an office chair, the screws between various components may gradually loosen due to vibrations, etc., resulting in an unstable overall structure of the chair and swaying.
- Caster Problems: Casters are the moving parts of an office chair. If the casters are damaged, stuck, or not installed firmly, they will also cause the chair to sway when moving or remaining stationary.
