Office Chair Support Round Tube

Admin October 09, 2026

There are mainly two types of office chair support round tubes, namely the home-seating frame profile-bent bright round tube and the gas spring. Here is a detailed introduction:

Home-seating Frame Profile-bent Bright Round Tube

  • Specifications: The outer diameter ranges from โˆฎ19 to โˆฎ80mm, and the wall thickness ranges from 1.0 to 4.0mm. This specification range can meet the support strength requirements of different office chair designs. A thicker outer diameter and wall thickness provide stronger support, suitable for users with larger body sizes or higher chair load-bearing requirements; while a thinner outer diameter and wall thickness are more suitable for lightweight office chairs.
  • Material: It is made of Q195/20# precision carbon steel. Carbon steel has good strength and toughness, ensuring that the round tube is not easily deformed or damaged when bearing the weight of the human body. Precision carbon steel has higher machining accuracy and better surface quality, which is beneficial for subsequent processing.
  • Surface Treatment: The surface is bright inside and outside without oxide scale, and the process is cold-drawn bright annealing. The cold-drawing process can make the dimensional accuracy of the round tube higher and the surface smoother; bright annealing can eliminate the internal stress generated during the processing of the round tube, improve its toughness and corrosion resistance, and at the same time give the surface a bright appearance, enhancing the product's aesthetics.
  • Other Features: It has a fixed length of 6 meters per piece, with an outer diameter tolerance of ยฑ0.1mm, and is a seamless easy-fusion-welded structural load-bearing tube. The fixed length facilitates cutting and use during the production process; the strict outer diameter tolerance ensures the assembly accuracy of the round tube with other components; the seamless easy-fusion-welded structure further improves the load-bearing capacity and sealing of the round tube.

Gas Spring

The cylindrical component under a computer chair is professionally called a gas spring, which is not just a simple iron rod. Its core function is to adjust the height of the chair by compressing or releasing the high-pressure nitrogen inside. Users can easily adjust the chair to a suitable height according to their own height and usage habits, improving comfort. Some advanced models of gas springs can also adjust the tightness of the backrest's recline, meeting users' needs for the chair backrest angle in different scenarios, such as resting and reading.
