Office Chair Structure

Admin October 22, 2026

The structure of an office chair mainly includes core components such as the headrest, backrest, seat, armrests, gas lift support, swivel mechanism, five-star base with wheels, casters, chair legs, chassis, and lumbar pillow.

The headrest is an important structure at the top of the office chair. It provides support for the head, relieves the pressure on the neck during long hours of office work, and reduces neck fatigue and soreness. Its height and angle are usually adjustable to accommodate the needs of users with different heights.

The backrest is a crucial part that supports the human back. Its shape and design directly affect the user's comfort and health. A reasonable backrest curve can conform to the natural curvature of the human spine, providing good support and reducing back pressure. Some high-end models adopt dynamic support technologies, such as dual-dynamic lumbar support, flexible back-following design, and domino three-dimensional lumbar support systems. These can automatically adjust the support force and angle according to the user's sitting posture and body movements, offering a more personalized support experience.

The seat is the part that directly bears the weight of the human body. It is generally composed of a wooden board, sponge, and fabric. The wooden board provides a stable support structure, the sponge increases the softness and comfort of the seat, and the fabric affects the appearance and feel of the seat. The shape and size of the seat also affect the user's comfort. A suitable seat should evenly distribute the body weight and avoid excessive local pressure.

The armrests provide support for the arms, reducing shoulder and arm fatigue. Their height and angle are usually adjustable to adapt to different office scenarios and usage habits.

The gas lift (pneumatic rod) is a key component for adjusting the seat height and enabling rotation. Through changes in air pressure, users can easily adjust the seat height to meet different desk heights and usage requirements. At the same time, the gas lift allows the seat to rotate 360 degrees, facilitating free movement and communication within the office area.

The swivel mechanism connects the seat and the base, enabling the seat to rotate flexibly. The five-star base with wheels provides stable support and good mobility. The design of the casters allows the seat to slide easily on the ground, making it convenient for users to adjust their positions. The chassis serves to connect and fix all the components, ensuring the overall stability of the seat. The lumbar pillow can further enhance support for the waist, reduce waist pressure, and prevent waist diseases.
