Office Chair and Station

Admin October 09, 2026

There is no direct connection between “office chairs” and stations, but stations are equipped with various types of seating for waiting passengers.

As important nodes in public transportation, stations typically set up dedicated seating facilities to meet the rest needs of a large number of waiting passengers. These seats differ significantly from office chairs in terms of function, design, and usage scenarios.

The design of station chairs places greater emphasis on public accessibility and durability. Common station chairs often feature metal frame structures, which are sturdy and durable, capable of withstanding heavy usage by large crowds and various weather conditions. The seat surfaces are mostly made of PU (polyurethane) material, which is not only comfortable but also easy to clean and maintain. Additionally, the design of station chairs needs to conform to ergonomic standards to ensure that waiting passengers can maintain a comfortable sitting posture during long waits and reduce fatigue.

In addition to common individual seats, some stations are also equipped with bench seating. For example, stainless steel three-person benches are a common type of station seating. These benches not only save space but also meet the needs of multiple people resting simultaneously. They are not only suitable for stations but also widely used in waiting areas of public places such as airports and banks.

Moreover, some stations offer more humanized service facilities. Taking Guiyang Metro stations as an example, they have set up convenience rest areas that are not only equipped with seats but also provide services such as drinking water and emergency supplies. The improvement of these facilities further enhances the service level of the stations, providing waiting passengers with a more comfortable and convenient waiting environment.
