Office Chair Standard
The 'Office Chair' standard covers multiple dimensions including official light industry standards, body pressure distribution testing standards, group standards, and European standards.

Official Light Industry Standard: QB/T 2280-2016 'Office Furniture - Office Chairs' is a fundamental and general standard formulated by the China National Light Industry Council and implemented in 2016. This standard applies to chairs used for indoor work, and chairs with similar purposes in other settings can refer to it. It specifies terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for office chairs. It also defines key indicators, such as an adjustable seat height range of no less than 60mm, and sets safety requirements to ensure the basic quality and safety performance of office chairs.
Body Pressure Distribution Testing Standard: QB/T 5618-2021 'Measurement Method for Body Pressure Distribution of Office Chairs', released in 2021, primarily standardizes the testing procedures and methods for body pressure distribution in office chairs. Through this standard, the pressure distribution on the contact surface between the human body and the chair during use can be scientifically measured, providing an important basis for evaluating the comfort of office chairs.
Group Standards: Several group standards provide more detailed regulations for office chairs. T/SPEMF 0003-2021 'Office Chairs', formulated by the Shanghai Furniture Industry Association and implemented in 2021, refines the classification of office chairs and supplements safety requirements such as flame retardancy and limits on harmful substances, as well as comfort and durability indicators. T/SZFA 3006-2021 'Office Chairs', released by the Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association in 2021, applies to indoor office chairs and specifies product classification, technical requirements, inspection, and packaging. T/CNFA 016-2021 'Quality and Safety Rating for Office Chairs', formulated in 2021, clarifies the rules for rating the quality and safety of office chairs, helping consumers better choose suitable office chairs.
European Standard EN1335: This standard provides detailed regulations for multiple components of office chairs, including casters, chair legs, gas lifts, bases, seats, armrests, backrest-seat connections, backrests, lumbar supports, and headrests. It also specifies main test items, such as general design requirements, stability tests (stability tests for the front edge of the seat, forward stability tests, etc.), and static pressure tests on the front of the seat, comprehensively ensuring the quality and safety of office chairs.
