Office Chair Stain Removal

Admin October 12, 2026

Stain removal from office chairs requires selecting appropriate methods based on the material and type of stain. Here are the specific solutions:

I. Removal of Printed Text from Plastic Office Chairs

  1. Ink Printing:
Use medical alcohol with a concentration of over 75% or essential balm. Dip a cloth or cotton pad in it and gently wipe the printed area, or cover it with a cotton pad and let it sit for 1-2 minutes until the ink dissolves, then wipe clean. The organic solvents in alcohol and essential balm can decompose ink components, but avoid excessive use to prevent the material from turning white.

  2. Adhesive Sticker Printing:
Use a hairdryer on the hot air setting, maintaining a distance of 10-15 centimeters, and evenly heat for 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Once the adhesive softens, use a bank card or fingernail to pry up the edge and peel off the sticker while heating. Control the distance and duration of heating to prevent local deformation of the plastic or burns.

  3. Stubborn or Large-Area Printing:
Select products such as 'silk-screen ink remover', 'ink cleaner', or 'plastic adhesive remover' for car interiors. Apply according to the instructions and wipe clean. These cleaners contain strong solvents, so test on a hidden area first to avoid corroding the material.

II. Removal of Marks from Leather Office Chairs

  1. Neutral Pen Ink:
Gently wipe 3-5 times with a disinfectant wipe or alcohol-soaked cotton pad. Alcohol can dissolve neutral pen ink, but control the pressure to prevent the leather from fading.

  2. Oil-Based Marker:
Apply hand cream or expired face cream and let it sit for 3 minutes. The oils will break down the ink, then wipe in a circular motion with a soft cloth. The oil components can emulsify oil-based marks, suitable for small-area cleaning.

  3. Pencil Marks:
Gently rub with a drawing eraser. The friction of the eraser can remove graphite residue, but avoid excessive rubbing to prevent the leather from pilling.

  4. Stubborn Marks:
Mix warm water with a couple of drops of dish soap to make soapy water, and wipe in one direction with a nano sponge; or use essential balm with a cotton swab (follow immediately with a second wipe with a damp cloth). Soapy water is gentle and removes dirt, while essential balm can dissolve oily components, but note that leather is not water-resistant, so dry promptly after cleaning.

III. General Precautions

  1. Material Testing: Before operation, test the cleaner on a hidden area such as the back or bottom of the chair to avoid damaging the material.
  2. Proper Operation: When heating a plastic chair, move the hairdryer to prevent local deformation; keep leather chairs away from radiators and direct sunlight to prevent cracking.
  3. Daily Maintenance: Wipe leather chairs with a leather conditioner to form a protective film and delay aging.
