Office Chair Stain Removal
Admin October 12, 2026
You can refer to the following methods for office chair stain removal:

Overall Cleaning Process
- Dust Removal: First, use a duster to remove dust from the surface of the chair. Then, use a vacuum cleaner with fabric attachments and crevice tools to thoroughly clean the chair from top to bottom, including the wheels. Focus on removing stubborn debris such as hair and fluff. If you don't have crevice tools, you can use a compressed air canister to clean hard-to-reach crevices.
- Cleaning Agent Selection and Use: Choose a cleaning agent according to the chair's care label:
- Code S: Use dry-cleaning solvent;
- Code W: Use a water-based solvent (such as warm water with a small amount of dishwashing liquid);
- Code SW/S/W: Either solvent can be used;
- Code X: Requires professional cleaning;
- Code C: Use an enzyme detergent. Pour the cleaning agent into a spray bottle or dip a clean cloth into it, and gently pat the chair surface (avoid rubbing) to cover it without over-saturating. Test it in an inconspicuous area before the first use to prevent damage to the material.
- Armrest and Leg Cleaning: Wipe with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, clean with diluted dishwashing soap water.
- Residue Removal and Drying: If the chair is washable, wipe off soap residue with a damp cloth, then dry it with a dry cloth. Let it air dry in a well-ventilated area or use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process. When using a dry-cleaning agent, follow the product instructions to determine whether rinsing is required.
Wheel Cleaning
- Removal and Initial Cleaning: Depending on the type of wheels (pull them off directly or unscrew them), use a butter knife to scrape off large pieces of debris (such as food residue and pebbles) stuck in the wheels.
- Stubborn Stain Removal: Wipe the wheel surface with a damp soapy cloth. For stubborn stains, repeat the wiping. If the wheels are tangled with hair, cut it with scissors and remove it with tweezers, or clean the crevice between the wheel and the cover with a cotton swab dipped in water.
- Quick Cleaning Tips: Wet a used face towel and let it air dry slightly. Wrap the wheel with the textured side of the towel and secure it with a rubber band. Sit on the chair and move back and forth to transfer the dirt to the face towel. Repeat the operation until the wheels are clean.
- Drying and Installation: Make sure the wheels are completely dry before reinstalling them to prevent water from hindering rolling.
Stain Removal
- Alcohol Stain Removal: Test alcohol in an inconspicuous area to ensure it does not damage the fabric. Then, gently pat the stained area and wipe off the residue with a damp cloth. Let it air dry naturally. Note: Avoid using it on acrylic fiber upholstery fabrics. Test S-code seat covers first.
- Enzyme-Based Stain Remover Alternative: If alcohol is ineffective, use an enzyme-based stain remover according to the instructions.
