Office Chair Stain Cleaning
Admin October 08, 2026
Cleaning office chair stains requires targeted methods based on different parts and materials, as follows:

I. Caster Cleaning
- Hair Entanglement Handling: Casters often have their rotation affected by hair entanglement. Use small scissors to carefully cut the entangled hair along the edge of the axle to avoid damaging the wheel structure.
- Dirt Cleaning: After removing the hair, wet a used facial cloth and let it air-dry until slightly damp. Use its textured surface to rub against the wheel surface to increase friction. Then, wrap the wheel with the facial cloth and secure it with a rubber band. Move the chair back and forth repeatedly to transfer the dirt to the facial cloth. Repeat the operation until the wheel is clean.
- Stain Prevention: Cut the invisible tape to an appropriate width and stick it on the caster surface in a "crumpled" manner. This not only prevents the wheels from being too slippery but also reduces hair and dust attachment, thus lowering the frequency of subsequent cleaning.
II. Mesh Office Chair Cleaning
- Dust Removal: Use a vacuum cleaner equipped with a soft-bristle brush head to fully suck up the dust along the texture direction of the mesh surface, avoiding direct wiping that may cause fiber deformation.
- Stain Removal: Dilute a neutral detergent in a 1:10 ratio and spray it on the stains. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes to decompose the stains.
- Deep Cleaning: Alternately use a sauna machine (in steam mode) and a high-temperature cleaning machine to perform at least two rounds of extraction cleaning on the mesh surface, using high temperature to soften stubborn stains.
- Drying: During the cleaning process, use a water absorber simultaneously to remove the residual moisture, shortening the drying time and preventing mold growth.
III. Cleaning of Office Chairs with Other Materials
- Fabric Chairs: For superficial stains, gently wipe with a slightly damp towel. For deep-seated stains, treat locally with a diluted detergent. After cleaning, be sure to absorb the moisture with a dry towel.
- Leather Chairs: First, wipe off the dust with a dry, soft towel. For stains, gently wipe with a damp towel and then let it air-dry naturally. Avoid exposure to the sun or using a hairdryer to speed up the drying process to prevent the leather from cracking.
- Solid Wood Chairs: Routinely wipe the surface with a dry towel and clean the dust in the crevices with a cotton swab. For oil stains, apply a special cleaner, wipe with a semi-dry towel, and then immediately dry it to prevent moisture penetration and mold growth in the wood.
IV. Office Cleaning Process for Chair Wiping
Follow the principle of "top to bottom" and clean the chair back, seat cushion, armrests, and chair legs in sequence to ensure no omission. The cloth should be kept slightly damp (not dripping). After wiping, immediately absorb the residual moisture with a dry cloth to avoid leaving water stains.
