The Spindle of the Office Chair is Loose
The solution to a loose spindle (gas lift) in an office chair depends on the cause of the looseness, primarily falling into two categories: looseness at the connection point and aging of the gas lift.

If the looseness originates from the connection between the seat and the gas lift, it is essential to first inspect the fastening structure. The gas lift is typically secured to the seat base with screws or clips, which may become loose or worn over time due to prolonged use. In this case, use the appropriate tools (such as a screwdriver or wrench) to tighten the screws and ensure a secure connection. If the clips are aged or broken, replace them with clips of the same specifications or contact after-sales service for replacement parts. Exercise caution during operation to avoid parts slipping or being damaged due to excessive force.
If the looseness is caused by aging of the gas lift or failure of its internal seals, the gas lift needs to be replaced. The gas lift is filled with high-pressure gas and maintains stable pressure through seals. Over time, the seals may wear or age, leading to gas leakage and causing the chair to wobble or malfunction in its height adjustment. In this case, purchase a new gas lift that matches the original model (you can inquire about the compatible specifications through the chair's brand or model). When replacing, first remove the seat base, take out the old gas lift, and then insert and secure the new one into the mounting hole. If you are unfamiliar with the operation, it is advisable to contact a professional repair technician or the brand's after-sales service to avoid safety hazards caused by improper installation.
Regular maintenance can extend the lifespan of the gas lift. It is recommended to regularly inspect the condition of the gas lift, focusing on whether the height adjustment is smooth and whether there are any blockages or leakage sounds. If you notice a slower height adjustment speed, slight sinking of the chair, or hear a gas leakage sound, address the issue promptly to prevent it from worsening. Additionally, avoid vigorous shaking or overloading the chair (the general weight limit for gas lifts is 100-120 kilograms) to reduce wear on the internal components of the gas lift and lower the risk of looseness.
