Office Chair and Sofa Fixation

Admin October 09, 2026

The fixation methods for office chairs or sofas should be selected based on their specific types and structures. Here are some common methods:

  1. Screw Fixation If the chair has a metal or wooden footrest, ensure that the screws are fully tightened to enhance stability. For example, a No. 3 screw can be used to fix the connection between the armrest and the chair body; the bottom of a wooden sofa can be reinforced with a combination of screws, nuts, and bolts to ensure that all components fit tightly together. When operating, pay attention to matching the screw specifications with the hole positions to avoid over-tightening, which could cause wood cracking or metal deformation.

  2. Anti-Slip Measures When used on smooth floors (such as tiles or marble), anti-slip pads can be attached to the bottom of the chair legs to reduce the risk of sliding and prevent damage caused by direct friction between the chair legs and the floor. If the chair wobbles due to an uneven floor, wooden or rubber pads can be placed on the short side of the chair legs to adjust the height and ensure even weight distribution on all four legs. Regularly check the wear of the anti-slip pads and replace any worn-out parts in a timely manner.

  3. Joint Fixation For sectional sofas, focus on fixing the joints:

  • Small-scale Joints: Use dedicated joint clips or metal clips to tighten adjacent modules and ensure tight seams;
  • Large-scale Joints: If the sofa is large, apply glue (such as woodworking glue) to the joints to enhance adhesion, but pay attention to the compatibility of the glue type with the material;
  • Frame Reinforcement: For long-term use, a wooden frame (such as one made of square wooden strips) can be built, and the sofa can be fixed inside it. Connect the bottom of the sofa to the frame with screws or nails to improve overall stability.
  1. Adjustment Mechanism Inspection For folding chairs or chairs with adjustable backrests, regularly inspect the adjustment buckles and locks:
  • Ensure that the locks are fully engaged to prevent accidental folding of the chair or sliding of the backrest due to looseness;
  • If the locks are severely worn, replace them with parts of the same model;
  • Placing rubber rings between the locks and the contact surfaces can increase friction and reduce the risk of sliding.
  1. Professional Assistance If you find it difficult to fix the furniture yourself (such as when the structure is complex, tools are lacking, or parts are damaged), it is advisable to contact a furniture repair technician or carpenter. Professionals can solve stubborn problems through methods such as welding, repairing screw holes, or customizing reinforcement parts, avoiding further damage to the furniture due to improper operation.

Operation Precautions: Disconnect the power before fixation (such as for electric sofas) or clear the weight from the chair surface; wear goggles when using power tools; if glue or paint is involved, operate in a well-ventilated environment.
