Office Chair Sitting Posture Demonstration

Admin October 16, 2026

There are several demonstrations of the correct sitting postures on an office chair:

Upright Sitting Posture: This is a relatively common and standard sitting posture. When using an ergonomic chair, it should be paired with an adjustable-height desk and a monitor stand. First, adjust the seat height so that your feet are flat on the ground, your thighs are parallel to the ground, and your knees are bent at about 90 degrees. Then, adjust the seat backrest so that it comfortably fits and supports your neck, back, and waist, keeping your spine in its natural physiological curve. At the same time, adjust the monitor stand to an appropriate height so that your eyes are level with the center of the monitor, avoiding neck extension or flexion and reducing pressure on your neck and shoulders. This sitting posture is suitable for long-term tasks that require concentration, such as word processing and data entry.

Reclined Sitting Posture: This posture requires the cooperation of a leg rest, an adjustable-height desk, and a monitor stand. Adjust the seat backrest backward to an appropriate angle so that your body is in a slightly reclined position. At the same time, use the leg rest to support your legs and let them relax. Adjust the desk height through the adjustable-height desk to ensure that your arms hang naturally when operating the keyboard and mouse, with your elbows bent at about 90 degrees. The monitor stand should also be adjusted to an appropriate position to ensure that your line of sight is level with the center of the monitor. This posture can reduce pressure on your waist and back and is suitable for some relaxing tasks such as reading and browsing the web.

Standing Sitting Posture: Designed specifically for those who sit for long periods, it enables easy switching between standing and sitting through an adjustable-height desk. When standing, keep your body upright, with your feet slightly apart at shoulder width, your knees naturally straight but not locked, your abdomen slightly tightened, your back straight, and your shoulders relaxed. Let your arms hang naturally, and when operating the keyboard and mouse, bend your elbows at about 90 degrees. This posture can promote blood circulation, reduce pressure on your waist and hips, and improve work efficiency. It is suitable for creative work and discussions.

Riding-like Sitting Posture: This is an intermediate posture between sitting and standing. You can use a special saddle chair or simulate it on an ordinary chair. This posture keeps your spine upright and reduces pressure on your spine. Use it with an adjustable-height desk or workbench, and adjust the desk height so that your arms are in a comfortable position when operating. The riding-like sitting posture can strengthen the strength of your core muscles and improve your body's balance and coordination. It is suitable for tasks that require flexible operations.

In addition, you can also add a cushion to your office chair. Place the cushion at your waist to provide additional support for your waist and maintain the correct sitting posture to protect your waist.
