Office Chair Silicone Leather
Office chair silicone leather has flame-retardant, safe, and environmentally friendly properties. The appearance of white powder can be alleviated through cleaning and maintenance, and daily attention should be paid to delaying aging, with a normal service life of about 3-5 years.

Characteristics and Safety
The core advantages of silicone leather lie in its flame retardancy and safety and environmental friendliness. Experiments show that even when ignited by a high flame or splashed with sparks, silicone leather will not burn as a whole, but only be locally heated on the surface. This is due to the high bond energy of the silicon-oxygen bond (Si-O) in its molecular structure, which can effectively inhibit the combustion chain reaction. In addition, no plasticizers, heavy metals, or other harmful substances are added during the production of silicone leather, which complies with environmental protection standards such as the EU's ROHS and REACH, making it suitable for long-term contact with human skin.
White Powder Treatment
The appearance of white powder is mainly caused by aging/oxidation or scale residue, and different treatments are required depending on the situation:
- Mild floating powder: Wipe the surface with aๆงๅนฒ็ (wrung-out) damp towel to remove the adherents.
- Stubborn powder:
- Prepare a 1:10 baking soda water solution, gently brush the powdered area with a soft-bristled toothbrush, then wipe it clean with a damp cloth and dry it in the shade;
- Or mix baking soda with water to form a paste and directly scrub stubborn stains, avoiding water penetration into the silicone interior;
- If the powder is highly adhesive (such as sweat crystals), spray 75% medical alcohol onto a nano sponge and gently wipe to dissolve the crystals. Alcohol evaporates quickly and does not damage the elasticity of the silicone.
Measures to Delay Aging
- Post-cleaning protection: Apply a thin layer of silicone protectant or petroleum jelly every quarter to form an isolation layer and reduce oxidation reactions, but control the amount (excessive application easily attracts dust).
- Physical isolation: For office chairs that frequently come into contact with sweat or cosmetics, install a breathable mesh chair cover to buffer friction and reduce direct contamination.
- Environmental control: Store the chair in a dark and dry place to avoid ultraviolet rays accelerating the breakage of silicone molecular chains, leading to hardening and cracking.
- Regular maintenance: Wipe the surface with a citric acid solution every month to neutralize alkaline sweat stains, maintain cleanliness, and inhibit microbial growth.
Material Selection and Lifespan
- Prioritize medical-grade liquid silicone (LSR): Its anti-aging performance is three times that of ordinary silicone. Through molecular structure design, it reduces the generation of free radicals and significantly extends the service life.
- Normal lifespan: Under reasonable use and maintenance, silicone products have a lifespan of about 3-5 years. If large-area hardening, cracking, or severe surface powdering occurs, timely replacement is required to avoid affecting use safety and comfort.
