Office Chair Shipping and Packaging

Admin October 11, 2026

You can refer to the following steps for shipping and packaging office chairs:

Step 1: Clean the Chair
Use a clean cloth to thoroughly wipe the office chair, including the armrests, backrest, seat surface, and other parts. The purpose of cleaning is to avoid bringing dust into the new environment and to prevent slipping during packaging due to dust, which could affect subsequent operations.

Step 2: Disassemble Components
For office chairs that can be disassembled, carefully study the instruction manual to understand the disassembly method and avoid damaging components through forceful assembly or disassembly. After disassembly, wrap components such as armrests and chair legs with stretch wrap to prevent scratches during handling. At the same time, properly store disassembled parts such as screws and nuts to prevent loss. For non-disassemblable chairs, you can directly wrap them tightly with stretch wrap to ensure overall structural stability.

Step 3: Wrap for Protection
Use bubble wrap to package the office chair. First, wrap it horizontally twice, then vertically, ensuring at least three to five layers of wrapping so that the bubble wrap completely covers the chair to cushion the pressure during moving and transportation. For special parts such as chair legs, provide extra wrapping to prevent collision damage.

Step 4: Place in Packaging
If the original packaging is intact, you can directly place the packaged chair in the original cardboard box. If the original packaging is lost, cut cardboard to make an outer packaging and use hard corner protectors to protect the edges and corners to prevent collisions during handling. For more valuable chairs made of rosewood or solid wood, you can make a frame-style wooden box according to the size of the chair and fill it with foam or unused clothing to reduce the gaps between the chair and the walls of the wooden or cardboard box, providing better protection. Disassemblable parts should be removed and packaged separately. Wrap each part with bubble wrap, then cover it with cardboard, place it in a cardboard box, and fill the gaps with foam paper to ensure it is firmly fixed.

Step 5: Attach Labels
Attach labels on the outside of the packaging indicating words such as 'Fragile' or 'Valuable' to remind handlers to be gentle and prevent problems during handling.
