Office Chair Separate Tray

Admin October 19, 2026

To separate the tray from the gas rod of a computer chair, follow these steps:

First, identify the object to be separated. If it is just the connection between the tray and the gas rod, this usually applies to the repair or component replacement scenarios of ordinary computer chairs. The first step is to locate the handle that controls the lifting and lowering. This handle is a key component for the separation operation. It is generally located at the front or side of the tray and commonly comes in the form of a knob or a pull rod. For a knob-type handle, rotation is required, while for a pull-rod type, direct pulling is necessary. Its design purpose is to control the lifting and lowering function of the gas rod and also serves as the trigger point for separating the tray from the gas rod.

The second step is to apply sufficient external force. Since the connection between the gas rod and the tray is designed to be relatively tight to ensure the stability of the chair during use, a certain amount of force is required for separation. When operating, pull the handle upwards with force. During this process, the force may need to be adjusted according to the different connection strengths. If the force is insufficient, separation may fail or the operation may be interrupted. If too much force is applied, care should be taken to avoid damaging the components or causing injury to oneself.

The third step is to operate and observe simultaneously. While continuously pulling the handle upwards with force, observe the separation state of the tray and the gas rod. The tray will gradually detach from the gas rod due to the external force. At this time, maintain the stability of the action to avoid sudden force that may cause the tray to suddenly fall off. Sudden detachment may cause damage to the edges of the tray or cause scratches and other injuries to the operator due to component rebound.

If it involves the disassembly of faults in office lifting chairs or gaming chairs, different methods need to be adopted. First, turn the entire chair upside down and place it flat on a stable ground to ensure that the chair will not slide or tip over during the operation. Then, use appropriate tools (such as a screwdriver) to remove the screws that fix the bottom tray. These screws are usually located at the connection part between the tray and the seat cushion. After removal, the tray can be separated from the seat cushion. Finally, carry out targeted disassembly and replacement according to the specific faulty parts (such as the chassis, gas rod, chair legs, etc.). For example, if the gas rod is faulty, it needs to be disassembled separately. If the chair legs are damaged, they need to be replaced with new parts after separation. During the operation, pay attention to recording the installation order of each component for subsequent reassembly.
