Office Chair Self-Assembly
The assembly of an office chair generally follows the steps below, with specific details potentially varying slightly depending on the brand and model:

Install the casters and gas lift Attach each caster to the chair base one by one, ensuring that each wheel is securely locked in place. After installation, insert the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the chair base, maintaining a vertical position to prevent wobbling during subsequent use. Some tutorials suggest assembling all five wheels into a single unit first and then inserting the gas lift, taking care to ensure that the wheels are all oriented in the same direction during this process.
Secure the base plate to the seat Place the base plate on the underside of the seat and fix it with screws. Typically, four long screws are required, which should be tightened after aligning the pre-drilled holes in the base plate with the threaded holes in the seat. Some designs may require the base plate to be installed on top of the seat, so adjust the orientation according to the instructions. After installation, check that the base plate and seat are tightly connected to prevent looseness.
Connect the backrest to the seat Fix the backrest to the seat using corner brackets or screws. Some models require three M8 screws to be inserted from the bottom of the backrest and tightened after aligning with the pre-drilled holes in the seat. This operation requires two people to cooperate, with one person holding the backrest steady and the other tightening the screws to ensure that the backrest and seat are at a 90-degree angle to each other.
Assemble the upper body with the gas lift Insert the assembled seat-backrest unit vertically into the top of the gas lift, pressing down firmly until it is fully engaged. Some gas lifts are designed with an anti-detachment clip, and a clicking sound will be heard when inserted, indicating that it is properly installed. After installation, gently shake the seat to check that it is securely connected to the gas lift.
Install the armrests and headrest Align the armrests with the pre-drilled holes on both sides of the seat and fix them with screws. Some models require one armrest to be installed first, the seat to be flipped over, and then the other armrest to be fixed to ensure that both sides are at the same height. The headrest is usually fixed to the top of the backrest with clips or screws and should be adjusted according to the design. If the chair is equipped with a footrest (such as the TOAI E1 model), insert it into the hole under the seat cushion and lock it in place.
Precautions:
- Before assembly, check all components to avoid missing screws or clips.
- When using tools, control the force to avoid scratching the chair surface or stripping the screws.
- After installing the gas lift, test the lifting function to ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise.
- Different brands (such as TOAI E1) may have special steps, so refer to the instructions first.
