Office Chair Seat Repair
Office chair seat repair requires different approaches depending on the specific issue:

If there is minor abrasion on the back of a leather office chair: First, clean the damaged area. Use a multi-functional cleaner to thoroughly wash the abraded part, removing surface stains and dust. Be careful to avoid leaving any cleaner residue, which could cause secondary damage to the leather. After cleaning, let it dry naturally. Avoid high-temperature baking or direct sunlight, as these can harden the leather. If the abrasion is deep, it is advisable to contact a professional leather repair agency for color restoration or leather patching. Attempting self-repair may result in color differences or leather deformation due to insufficient technical skills.
If the office chair tilts to one side:
- Check the wheel status: Place the chair upright and ensure that each wheel foot is in contact with the ground. Then, invert the chair to check for any signs of damage on the wheels. If a wheel is found to be damaged, purchase a new wheel of the matching model. You can obtain the model information by contacting the manufacturer or by removing the old wheel and taking it to an office supplies store to compare the shape and size of the wheel axle for replacement.
- Check the seat plate structure: If the wheels are intact and the ground is level, place the chair on its side and locate the metal seat plate (usually a square, black-painted steel plate that connects the single-leg cylindrical column to the seat plate). If the seat plate is deformed or the connection is loose, further check whether the fixing screws have fallen off or broken.
- Replace or lubricate the casters: When removing the old casters, hold the wheel with one hand and the bottom of the chair with the other hand, and pull hard. If it is difficult to remove, insert a flat-head screwdriver into the gap between the wheel foot and the chair as a lever and operate slowly. Pull it out about 1 centimeter and then pull again. For a very small number of casters fixed with screws, use a screwdriver to loosen the screws and remove them. Apply a small amount of spray lubricant (such as WD-40) or substitute with petroleum jelly to the socket on the chair base. The amount applied should be about the size of a pea.
- Install new casters: Align the caster rod with the base and gently tap it in with a rubber mallet. Prioritize tapping near the base of the stem to reduce the risk of deformation. After installation, invert the chair and sit on it to test. If it rolls smoothly and does not tilt, the repair is complete. If it still tilts, repeat the inspection of the seat plate or contact a professional repair technician.
If the gliding bone block of the backrest of the Sihao C500 second-generation premium model is loose: Remove the back cover from the bottom of the backrest to expose the internal screw structure. Use the appropriate tool to remove the 5 fixing screws, and then you can take off the aluminum alloy cup holder. Check the reason for the loose bone block. If it is due to loose screws, retighten them. If it is due to worn parts, replace the corresponding parts. When operating, be sure to keep the removed screws and parts to avoid loss and the inability to restore the chair.
