Office Chair Seat Installation
The steps for installing the seat of an office chair are as follows:

Step 1: Fix the base to the seat Place the base steadily in the corresponding position on the seat cushion. Pay special attention to the orientation of the base to ensure it aligns with the design direction of the seat. After aligning the screw holes on the base and the seat, use screws (usually 4 B-type screws) for preliminary fixation. First, gently screw each screw in by 3 - 4 turns to avoid base misalignment due to excessive force on one side. Then, tighten each screw one by one to ensure a firm connection between the base and the seat. Some installation instructions may simply state 'Fix the base to the seat with screws.' The essence of the operation is the same; it is necessary to ensure that the screw holes are aligned and securely fastened.
Step 2: Connect the seat to the gas lift Align the assembled seat part with the top of the gas lift and insert it vertically downward into the reserved hole in the base until the gas lift is fully embedded in the base interface. In this step, ensure that the gas lift is aligned with the hole in the base to avoid structural looseness or damage to the gas lift due to oblique insertion. Some installation instructions may simplify it as 'Vertically insert the base onto the gas lift.' Here, 'base' refers to the combination of the seat and the base, and the core of the operation is still vertical alignment.
Step 3: Connect the seat to the backrest There are various methods for installing the backrest depending on the design differences:
- Simple pin-type: Insert the backrest obliquely into the pin holes on the side of the seat. A 'click' sound indicates that the buckle is in place. Then, paste the pin cover (a decorative soft material) over the interface to complete the hidden fixation.
- Angle-bracket screw-fixing type: Connect the backrest to the seat through metal angle brackets. Use screws (such as self-tapping screws) to directly tighten the contact surfaces between the angle brackets and the two parts. This method is suitable for office chairs with a relatively simple structure.
- Multi-screw locking type: First, use 2 C-type screws to pass through the bottom of the armrest support and fix the connection between the bottom of the backrest and the seat. Then, align the installation holes at the back of the backrest with the corresponding holes on the seat cushion support. Use two wrenches in combination with D-type screws (usually long bolts) for locking fixation to ensure a rigid connection between the backrest and the seat. This method is common in high-end or adjustable office chairs.
After installation, check that all screws are tightened, the backrest is stable without any wobbling, and test whether the gas lift's height adjustment function works properly to ensure the safe use of the office chair.
