Office Chair Seat Cleaning

Admin October 09, 2026

Office chair seat cleaning requires different methods based on the material and should follow a top-to-bottom overall process, with the cloth kept slightly damp and not dripping.

The cleaning methods for office chair seats of different materials are as follows:

  • Mesh office chairs: The cleaning steps are relatively complex. First, use a vacuum cleaner to thoroughly remove dust from the seat surface to ensure effective dust removal. Next, dilute the cleaning agent and spray it evenly on the seat surface. Leave it for a while to allow the stains to fully decompose. After that, use a sauna machine and a high-temperature cleaning machine alternately to suction-wash at least twice for thorough cleaning. During the cleaning process, use a water absorber to promptly dry the water and speed up the drying of the seat surface. A mesh office chair usually needs to go through multiple steps such as scrubbing, pre-treatment, focused stain treatment, water circulation cleaning, and steam deep cleaning and sterilization to achieve a good cleaning effect.
  • Fabric chairs: If the stained area is on the surface, do not scrub directly with a brush during cleaning to avoid damaging the fabric. Instead, gently wipe it with a damp cloth. If the fabric chair is very dirty, you can clean it with a diluted cleaning agent, but be sure to rinse it with water again after cleaning and wipe off the moisture to prevent damage to the fabric from cleaning agent residue.
  • Leather chairs: Cleaning is relatively simple. First, use a soft cloth to wipe off the dust on the surface. If there are stains on the surface, gently wipe them with a damp cloth and then promptly wipe off the surface moisture. It is best to let it air-dry naturally and avoid using a heat source to dry it to prevent damage to the leather.
  • Solid wood chairs: First, wipe off the dust with a dry cloth. For dust in the crevices, you can use a cotton swab to clean it thoroughly. If there are oil stains, apply an appropriate amount of cleaning agent to the oil stains, clean them with an appropriate amount of water, and then dry them. Be careful to prevent further water penetration to avoid mold and rot of the wood.

When cleaning an office chair seat, it is recommended to follow the overall process from the backrest, seat cushion, armrests, to the chair legs to ensure that no part is missed. At the same time, the cloth used must be slightly damp and not dripping to prevent water stains and moisture problems and extend the service life of the office chair.
