Office Chair Seat Assembly and Disassembly
Admin October 14, 2026
The assembly and disassembly of an office chair seat can be carried out according to the following steps. Be cautious during installation and disassembly operations to ensure safety:

Assembly Steps
- Install the Chair Legs and Gas Cylinder: First, attach the casters to the chair legs, ensuring that each caster is firmly installed. After installing the chair legs, place the gas cylinder vertically into the center of the chair legs, ensuring a tight connection between the gas cylinder and the chair legs to provide stable support for subsequent installation.
- Secure the Base and Seat: Use screws to fix the base onto the seat. Tighten the screws to prevent the base from loosening, which could affect the safety and comfort of using the office chair.
- Connect the Backrest and Install the Base Plate: After the seat is installed, connect the backrest to the seat, usually by using specific clips or screws. Then, insert the base plate vertically onto the gas cylinder, ensuring a stable connection between the base plate and the gas cylinder so that the lifting function can work properly.
- Install the Armrests and Headrest: Finally, install the armrests and headrest. Depending on the design of the office chair, the armrests and headrest may be connected to the seat and backrest using screws or clips. Ensure that the connections are firm and the positions are appropriate during installation.
Disassembly Steps
- Caution for Disassembly: Compared to assembly, disassembly is more difficult. After long-term use, the gas cylinder and the chair legs may be tightly fastened. It is not recommended to disassemble unless necessary. Pay attention to safety during disassembly to avoid injury due to improper operation.
- Remove the Base Plate: First, separate the backrest. Then, raise the gas cylinder to the highest position. Hold the seat with one hand and press the lifting lever with the other hand. Shake it a few times to remove the base plate. Pay attention to using an appropriate amount of force during the operation to avoid damaging the components.
- Remove the Gas Cylinder: After separating the base plate and the gas cylinder, turn the chair legs upside down. It is best to use a rubber mallet to knock it out. If you don't have a rubber mallet, you can use a piece of wood as a cushion and knock to separate the gas cylinder from the chair legs.
- Remove Other Parts: For other parts of the chair, loosen the screws in the reverse order of assembly to disassemble them. Keep small parts such as screws properly during disassembly to avoid losing them.
