Office Chair Sales Commission

Admin October 17, 2026

There is no unified standard for the commission ratio of office chair sales, with a common range between 1% and 8%. Some positions can reach 5% to 8% or even higher, depending on factors such as product type, sales model, and performance tiers.

In terms of product type, there are differences in the commission ratios for different types of office chairs. The commission ratio for finished office chairs is usually lower, generally around 1% - 4%. This is because finished office chairs have a high degree of production standardization, intense market competition, and relatively limited profit margins, so the sales commission ratio is also relatively low. On the other hand, the commission ratio for custom-made office chairs or high-end branded office chairs will be correspondingly higher, reaching 5% - 8% or even higher. Custom-made office chairs and high-end branded office chairs often feature unique designs, high-quality materials, and exquisite craftsmanship, resulting in higher product value and profits. To incentivize sales personnel to actively promote these products, companies usually set higher commission ratios.

The sales model also affects the commission ratio. The commission ratios for online sales and offline sales may differ. Online sales are usually conducted through e-commerce platforms, with a relatively standardized sales process and potentially lower operating costs, so the commission ratio may remain relatively stable at a lower level. In contrast, offline sales require sales personnel to communicate face-to-face with customers and provide more personalized services, making the sales process more complex. To reflect the labor value of sales personnel, the commission ratio may be slightly higher.

Performance tiers are also an important factor influencing the commission ratio. Many companies adopt a performance-based tiered commission system, where the higher the sales volume, the higher the commission ratio. For example, when the sales volume is within a certain range, the commission ratio is 2%; when the sales volume exceeds this range and reaches a higher level, the commission ratio may increase to 4% or even higher. This commission system can incentivize sales personnel to continuously improve their sales performance and create more profits for the company.
