Office Chair Rubber Cover
Admin October 08, 2026
Office chair rubber covers typically refer to the rubber sleeves for chair legs, also known as table and chair foot pads, silent protective covers, or anti-slip pads. They are common functional accessories in industrial and home settings.

Materials and Characteristics
The material of office chair rubber covers directly affects their performance and applicable scenarios.
- Natural rubber and synthetic rubber (such as nitrile rubber) are mainstream choices due to their high elasticity and strong wear resistance. They can withstand long-term friction and pressure from chair legs, making them suitable for high-frequency moving office environments.
- Silicone materials have the characteristics of high-temperature resistance, aging resistance, and being non-toxic and odorless. They are often used in scenarios with strict hygiene requirements, such as medical and food processing industries, or in high-end customized office chairs.
- Polyurethane has the advantages of lightweight and tear resistance, making it suitable for scenarios that require both strength and flexibility.
Core Functions
The design of rubber covers revolves around three main needs:
- Shock absorption and noise reduction: The soft rubber layer can absorb the vibration energy generated when the chair legs move, significantly reducing friction noise. This is especially suitable for quiet environments such as libraries and conference rooms.
- Floor protection: By isolating the direct contact between the chair legs and the floor, they prevent sharp or rough chair legs from scratching wooden floors, tiles, or marble surfaces, extending the service life of the floor.
- Anti-slip and fixation: They increase the friction between the chair legs and the floor, preventing the chair from sliding due to external forces or tilting, reducing the risk of falls, especially suitable for families with elderly people or children.
Production Processes
- Molding: Rubber or silicone raw materials are injected into molds and formed under high temperature and pressure to ensure accurate dimensions, smooth appearance, and uniform thickness of the products. This is suitable for mass production of standardized rubber covers.
- Extrusion process: The raw materials are heated and then formed into continuous strips or rolls through an extruder. They can be cut as needed, offering high flexibility. This process is often used for producing irregularly shaped or customized-size rubber covers.
Installation and Maintenance Tips
- Clean the contact surfaces: Before installation, thoroughly remove dust and oil stains from the chair legs and the floor to ensure a firm fit between the rubber cover and the contact surfaces, preventing detachment or sliding due to impurities.
- Material matching: Choose the rubber hardness according to the floor type. Hard tiles are suitable for rubber with a Shore hardness of 40-60 degrees to prevent slipping; soft wooden floors require softer materials (such as silicone) to avoid indentation.
- Special scenario adaptation: For office chairs or heavy equipment that move frequently, it is recommended to choose rubber covers with anti-static formulas to balance durability and safety.
