Office Chair Replacement Footrest

The replacement footrest of an office chair can be operated using the following two methods:

Method 1: Shaking and Removal Method

This method is suitable for situations where the connection between the footrest and the seat cushion is relatively loose. Step 1: Step on the five-star footrest under the office chair with one foot to ensure the chair remains stable during the removal process and avoid accidental injuries caused by sliding or tipping over. Step 2: Grasp both sides of the seat cushion tightly with your hands and shake it left and right to loosen the connection between the footrest and the seat cushion. While shaking, slowly and evenly lift the seat cushion upwards. Step 3: Continue the above shaking and lifting actions for an appropriate amount of time, as some connections between the footrest and the seat cushion may be tight and require multiple operations to separate. Step 4: If the footrest has not been removed after following the above steps, try grasping the other two sides of the seat cushion and repeat the left-right shaking and upward lifting actions until the footrest is successfully removed from the seat cushion.

Method 2: Inspection and Removal Method

This method requires selecting different operation methods based on the specific situation at the bottom of the central column. Step 1: Gently lay the office chair on the ground to facilitate observation of the structure at the bottom of the central column and check for the presence of a flat washer snap ring. Step 2: If a flat washer snap ring is found at the bottom of the central column, use an appropriate tool, such as a screwdriver, to carefully remove the flat washer snap ring. At this point, the connection between the old five-star footrest and the central column is released, and the old five-star footrest can be easily pulled out. Then, install the new five-star footrest onto the central column. Step 3: If there is no flat washer snap ring at the bottom of the central column, the connection between the five-star footrest and the steel column is usually a conical structure that is pressed together by weight. In this case, use a lightweight hammer to gently tap the five-star footrest to gradually separate it from the steel column until the five-star footrest is completely removed. Finally, align the new five-star footrest with the steel column and apply pressure slowly and evenly to install it in place.
