Office Chair Repair Putty
For repairing cracks in office chairs, you can choose water-based repair putty or wood epoxy resin adhesive, depending on the crack situation.

If the cracks in the office chair are shallow or narrow, water-based repair putty is a more suitable choice. It uses water-based resin emulsion as the film-forming material, combined with inorganic fillers and water as the dispersion medium. It does not contain organic solvents such as benzene and formaldehyde, and its environmental performance meets relevant standards, making it especially suitable for scenarios with high environmental requirements, such as offices and homes. Water-based repair putty is ready to use out of the bucket, requires no mixing of curing agents, offers flexible construction, and supports multiple coats, effectively filling small cracks. In terms of hardness, its Shore hardness is generally between 10-30, with special modified models reaching 40. It has good flexibility, can adapt to seasonal expansion and contraction of wood, and is not prone to cracking due to substrate deformation, making it suitable for dynamic scenarios such as furniture mortise-and-tenon joints and wood veneer repairs.
If the cracks in the office chair are wide or deep, wood epoxy resin adhesive is a better choice. Its adhesive strength is much stronger than that of ordinary glue. After filling the cracks, it can form a stable whole with the wood, and is not prone to cracking and falling off again when subjected to force. After curing, epoxy resin adhesive has high hardness and wear resistance, can effectively repair larger damages, and extend the service life of the office chair. When using it, note that epoxy resin adhesive usually needs to be mixed with a curing agent in proportion, and the curing time is relatively long. It needs to wait until it is fully cured before use, but the repair effect is more durable.
Summary: For small cracks, water-based repair putty is more suitable due to its environmental friendliness, ease of construction, and good flexibility; for wider or deeper cracks, wood epoxy resin adhesive is more appropriate due to its strong adhesive strength and high hardness. When choosing, comprehensive consideration should be given based on the specific situation of the cracks and usage requirements.
